The third group are insecure attention whores who read their own old posts to see what their opinions should be.
I don't mean to call attention to any specific poster, but I will say this. All season, many on this forum has crowed about Mobley successes with the Cavs. However, now that Mobley has come back to earth with a bunch of recent triple-singles, those same posters are like, "Why are you comparing Mobley to Green?"
u got to stop confusing me with mobley fanbois. I have yet to see anyone beside me and xaos wondering why u are currently bringing up mobley's pedestrian stats in a green thread. There is no point, Green's current performances is doing all the talking on why he was picked number 2. the only outspoken mobley fanboi right now is cxxby. (as far as i could see) the rest are hiding in their little hole waiting until green has a sht game before they come back out btching.
Green has really impressed me with his willingness to play hard on the defensive end, and also with his ability to move his feet and stay in front of guys. The last month or so I think he’s been the best perimeter defender on the team (though he still makes mistakes off ball, which is understandable because he’s a rookie the dude in the middle never communicates) Whenever I see an opposing player calling for an iso on him I think to myself “you’re making a mistake”, and this was an area where he was supposed to be an absolute negative this year. And now, these last three games he’s been adding the middy too? I’m liking this development
That's all u can ask for in a rookie. Folks were shtting him so hard on defense, point out the stats painting him a weak ass defender early in the season. He grinded and put in the work and effort. I am very impressed and I whole heartedly agree with your post on green defensive effort
I'm not even going to hate on Mobely because he's ROY and I think is going to have a fantastic career barring some injury or something. I think we're going to look back at this draft and say it was a really good draft. I think 4 teams are going to be very happy about the players they have 5 years from now and a few other teams that will have good players like Giddey and Wagner and of course Sengun. It's just a really good class so far.
Damn damn damn. I missed the game and haven't watched it yet, but looks like he is inching closer and closer to turning this hot streak into his new average. Looks DECISIVE in the highlights, a better awareness of what he is and isn't capable of. Shot selection was excellent, even on the midrange which I'm normally not a fan of. You have to be ELITE like a CP3 to earn that shot in my book, but Jalen has impeccable balance on pull ups, he could conceivably get there. Green has been one of the best Rockets on the floor for 15 games now. That's a real milestone. If he averages decent numbers over his next 5, we can call this his new floor. I can't imagine how you wouldn't be excited as a Rockets fan watching this unfold slowly. Just how good is he going to be after a summer of adding strength to his frame and polish on his skills?
3 assists doesn't tell the true story of his passing, you can only set up the shot....................you can't take it as well
Jalen Green is the FCUKIN Truth! Wow this kid is special and growing right in front of our eyes! I would pick Jalen Green over Mobley any day! Trust the process! Jalen Green has the IT Factor! He will be even more dangerous in 2-3 years when he put on more size! He’s more confident than ever. It’s like night and day since what we saw in the beginning of the season. The kid has turn the light switch on! And F all the haters that were hating on him! He’s proving yall haters wrong right now!
Bad timing though, Sengün had two of his below average games (1 fouling out). Christopher looks like shet after Silas benching him for spare minutes. I do not even know where Garuba is these days. Good thing the 2nd overall pick pretty much seals the deal.
Jalen Green’s last 8 games: 19, 3, and 3 on 47/38/61 shooting splits he’s getting steals…he’s getting blocks for someone who’s so weak, gets blocked all the time, blah blah blah, he’s still 64% at the rim…and no, that’s not because of his transition makes, he finishes in the halfcourt too 7 assists last night…I like seeing him contribute in multiple categories Can I get at least 20, 5, and 4 on at least average efficiency in year 2?
Last two games Green showcased the full extent of his 3 level scoring potential. A combination of drives to the rim, mid range and 3 point range. He's normally been focused on 3s and rim drives ala. Harden but he's converting mid ranges recently at a very high rate. Also, as the Nuggets commentators pointed out, the Nuggets assigned Aaron Gordon (their best defender) primarily on Green.
SIlas has been milking Green since the All Star Break, I think the opponent knows (Don Mitchell acknowledged improvement). While other teams are prepping for the last run, that would be noteworthy. Shows you how well prepared the Top 15 teams are in the NBA.
Good to see Green making gains - it’s all about the 2022 NBA draft! I wonder with Jabari or Chet in the starting Line Up do the Rockets ever try and compete with Wall next year?
Mobley fan checking in If Green can keep this up, it'll be one of the biggest splits ever, in league history, in terms of improvement. If that's not a good sign, I don't know what is. Super happy for him. If he makes a major leap again in the off-season and this isn't just a hot streak, we're going to look REALLY good in a couple of years, assuming our next draft picks pan out.
Really excited to see Green's development. That midrange game is going to really open up the floor for him. I remember a knock on Green earlier on was his handles but he's improved there too. You cant really ask for much more from a just turned 20 year old rookie. And best of all, Rockets are still losing but respectably so that top 3 pick is still in play. Imagine Green's assist going to Chet instead of Wood. Dreams. Lol forgive @Houston77. Looks like he was on a good one last night.
Doing that with the least amount of touches and a big man that refuses to set proper picks and without a real pg. Green looks pretty good with the situation he is put into.
