I think ultimately we are going to have to fight and see if they will use them. I don't think you can simply sit by and let a guy just keep using that I will NUKE you to get his way....you have to deal with him and stop appeasing him. Lots of risk, I know but I don't see any other way, if someone else doesn't take him out. DD
That's how many they have but not operational. Russia has 1,458 warheads on 527 intercontinental ballistic missiles, submarine-launched missiles and bombers.
If you take him at his word: -Regime change to a puppet Russian government running Ukraine -Bully the other former Soviet states into folding to avoid the carnage that Ukraine felt. It mirrors a very similar sentiment fueled by grievance that Hitler used to recoup what Germany lost after WW1. It's really just that simple from this perspective. The difference is I think Hitler had much much greater desires to rule all of Europe while Putin would be happy enough (I think) to reclaim the Soviet Union and make the EU and NATO irrelevant. I don't think he'll succeed at anything except MAYBE regime change in Ukraine in the short term which will lead to perpetual civil war in Ukraine with insurgency after insurgency until Russia is pulled so thin that it becomes a third world country. What Putin is probably hoping now happens is that he can get three things done: -Get Kazakhstan, and Armenia to cower, and fold their military & draft eligible men into the Russian military. The key will be having the ability like Germany did to fold other countries military assets into theirs. -Find a pretense that works to rally Russians to his cause. He needs a 9/11 for Russia type of event because right now he lacks the support to go much further that MAYBE being able to topple the Ukrainian government which as I said... alone.... doesn't get him anything but a foreign occupation that drains his country into a economic desert. -Get Right wing autocrat leaders like Trump elected at some point and moving the attention of the world away from Russia's atrocities, relieving sanctions, and cutting major deals to put Russia back on the map as a leading petro state.
It is enough to end the world with the Greenhouse effect same for us.....this is a test for mankind - if we are stupid enough to use them, the earth will shake us right off. We are already destroying the planet with global warming. I just don't think we can keep appeasing a guy who wants to take over the world. At some point you have to take a stand. DD
Putin is already putting up the iron curtain. I'm very curious how does a "western" population react to such a drastic and sudden change. Does anyone know where Edward Snowden is? Putin becoming like Kim Jong-un is a pretty huge downgrade. But you are right, he has enough to sustain his self-isolated life forever and he might just rule as a king from here onward watching his subordinate degrade to NK level without blinking.
These people aren't propped up by persona or following but rather power. Cuba, North Korea, Venezuela tells the tale that the successor can be as brutal or even worse than the original. It's a massive assumption to think you will end up with a better tyrant when you get rid of the first one. Just look how Al Qaeda became ISIS. You just don't know.
Important to remind people that much of the intelligence that was declassified in recent years from the J Edgar Hoover years that clearly shows intelligence that had Hitler been given more time, nuclear war would have been inevitable. The time also was what gave the Third Reich the ability to establish a network in Spain, Argentina, etc. to attempt a 4th Reich. Many of the criminals responsible had the time to plan their escape and lived wealthy and peaceful. I say this to say that the US had these conversations back in the day before Pearl Harbor, and obviously FDR didn't want to get involved, or didn't think he had the political backing to do so prior to 12/7. If something is the right thing to do, I don't think we need to waste much time questioning it. History shows that time is of the essence. I still don't think we need to be directly attacking the Russians, but we cannot lie to ourselves that this war doesn't effect us, and we won't eventually be more involved. We need to be taking further steps to supply military support, intelligence, drones, and be ready to provide cyber support. We should also be rallying non-NATO countries to ally with Ukraine, and send in troops to support.
At least this situation has finally lifted the veil on some of these political figures we've known where Kremlin assets but were always given benefit of the doubt publicly. It's obvious that him, Tulsi Gabbard, and quite a few others are assets of Russia in some way shape or form, and shouldn't be given much of a platform moving forward.
That’s bullshit. Why do you lie? As a matter of fact that group wanted to bring down the Ukrainian government https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/christopherm51/neo-nazi-group-facebook This Neo-Nazi Group Is Organizing On Facebook Despite A Year-Old Ban So next time you post **** I will call you out.
No comments on Trump's complete 180 on the invasion? I was surprised to hear him call it a 'holocaust' and talk about citizens being killed -- I expected him to just dig his heals in and double down on his previous Putin support.
that’s a lie. It is not a government military group. They are against the Ukrainian government. Are you getting payed by Russia to spread misinformation? It is a far right militia group with tie to other far right nazi groups even in the us.
"We're watching a holocaust. We're watching something that I've never seen before, the way that they're going to go in — they're blowing up buildings with children, with women, with professionals, with people — think of just people," Trump said. "They're blowing up indiscriminately, they're just shooting massive missiles and rockets into these buildings and everybody is dying." https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-calls-russia-invasion-of-ukraine-holocaust-big-shift-2022-3
You actually believe him? Really? Is there neo Nazis in Ukraine. Yes. Are they sponsored by the current Ukrainian government absolutely not.
Unwitting asset. Edward Snowden really believed the US was worse than Russia. It's too bad, he going to pay for the rest of his life for that view.
I'm interested on their upcoming hard pivot to remain in line with Trump and how they'll attempt to gaslight.
