2 or 3 is the same thing. He is best coming off the bench I think but moving him to 3 and then getting a true distributor at 1 could so wonders.

And yet he still managed 4 turnovers. Imagine how many more he could have had if they forced him the ball more.

Yep. Smack Wood upside the head and take the ball.

    Rando thoughts:

Best fake comeback to real comeback of the season. Torn between wanting the L and W.

Green early offense and surprisingly working out of the PnR was working tonight. Also nice to see the midrange J. He will be mutch harder to guard as a threat from all over the court.

MORE KJ. Martin. Except in OT. Works well roll as the roll man.

People saying KPJ didn't make it easier for other Rockets must not have watched the game closely.

Wood needs to find a balance between being aggressive and playing within the "offense"

Dennis is a Who from the Grinch.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong Donovan is a great player but he is annoying as hell to watch. Sooo mutch foul baiting, traveling and creating contact on offense.

Unlike westbrook, he shoots 38% triples for the season. And actually tries on D.

Jalen green got 3 assists when he brought up the ball 3 times.

Jalen barely records an assist a game.

KPJ was pretty bad until the 4th qtr and OT.

He is a good PG, and getting better....his Ast to turnover ratio is climbing and will be 2 to 1 soon enough.

It's really not the same thing, and you don't have your best guard come off the bench. I get it though, the cult really wants Green to be a primary ball handler when he's clearly not one. They blame KPJ for that because right now he's more of the kind of player they wish Green was.

The two players compliment one another.....I'm sure Rockets fans can see that, but the cult is the cult. Can't expect much from them.

It's not even about force feeding him the ball bc that is not the solution. He led the team in shots but he did that with 0 attempts in the 1st. That can't happen. He can't go a while period with all plays being run opposite of his side. And if you watched him, he did call for the ball to be swing to his side and it never happened. It was only after senguin came in that they started to let him curl.
And this would not have made a diff but Matthews shot 2 technical free throws. Green on the season shoots 1 percent better from the line than Matthews (negligle I know). So why are you not having green shoot technical free throws?

I just don't like when they ignore him in transition. Get the ball out to the wing! He is always there. If he doesn't have a shot he will pull back. Schroder to his credit tries to do this more. Tate KPJ and Wood usually just let him head to the corner.

This is actually a very fair point.

Green used to shoot technicals but he has since stopped and Matthews has been given the green light instead.

All these coaching decisions are very mind boggling.

You can maintain a false narrative all you want. I don't think green should be a primary ball handler. I don't think he should have the ball in isolation. I think he needs a good distributor to help him do what he does best. Cut and curl.
Kpj should play the role to manu ginobelli. Before you assume again, I am not saying he can be as good as him. That is the perfect role for him bc he can score and he can help create for others. You can argue in some seasons he was the spurs best guard as well but came off the bench.

That’s the point. It’s when he starts playing iso basketball and forcing shots is when he struggles. Notice how today everyone had a good game, the ball was moving plenty.

Green is not a good on ball player, doesn’t have the handles or moves to be one yet, so he need to pass more and needs the ball to rotate back to him. Giving him the ball and letting him iso is how he struggles.

Overall he got plenty of touches, just couldn’t find a good shot to take in OT. Cant keep blaming the rest of the team if he’s passing out of the possessions.

The diff between him and a (good) PG is still wide… he’s a slightly below avg PG … DS is a “good” PG

When he focuses on making the game easier for others and his decision making quickens .. he will take next step

    LOL

Scoot and Wood led that comeback.

    Scoot is better than Schroder.

If he wasn't 2 for 7 from the line, this could have been a totally different game. Thank god he was lol

If you keep giving it up especially in clutch time other guys will feel need to step up.

    You ball right?
