Russia is a crime organization, we are taking them down just like we did Al Capone.

It’s in direct reference to his analogy /meme comparing the US and Ukraine.

I think it might be more accurate to say Russia threatened to retaliate with nukes if NATO did anything. As a defense. Like a nuclear Ukraine might have done if Russia started massing an army on its border -- just rattle the saber a bit and say, 'Watch it! We might nuke you!'

For the same reason we'd fight Russia if they invaded Ireland. There's no chance NATO will allow Putin to get a foothold in Western Europe.

He's sitting on 3 years of cash (600 billion). So it will take that long before he feels the pinch - keep in mind he can still sell the oil to China, and at a much higher price as oil has jumped big time.

Basically in the short term you are punishing us not Russia. That's why its better to freeze the flow of money vs the flow of goods.

Ireland, I'll believe. Finland would depend on a lot of variables.

LA Times writer is a journalist. Andy Ngo is not (despite what you may claim or believe). When someone heavily edits videos to present a misleading conclusion, they are not journalists, they are activists without credibility.

No we are punishing the Russian people in hopes they rise up and take care of him.

Devaluing their currency will kill the economy and cause mass famine and destroy their businesses.

The thread you are reading, Twitter, ie all joe blow usa discussion. Expectations are not aligned with reality.

I saw a poll where close to 50% of Americans support a war with Russia. How crazy is that? We JUST got out of a cluster ****. Like very recently.

Or it could backfire and make the Russian people rally behind Putin. Putting sanctions on a country for this kind of strategy is foolish - it has never worked before and again, you are talking about a path that takes years - Russia will still take Ukraine.

All you will do is sink the US and Europe into a massive recession. Americans have no stomach for feeling inflationary pain. And if China buys that oil, you'll have accomplished nothing but leave Europe in a massive energy crunch.

They can sell some to China. But wars are expensive. Drawing on money that won't be easily replenished will be a consequence especially as their economy is in the tank.

    That's my take anyway.

We've frozen his ability to take foreign money anyway. What stop the flow of oil? He's not going to be able access or spend any of that oil anyway as it will be trapped in foreign accounts waiting to be transferred. That's why I think it's pointless and it's just a symbolic act at this point.

The sanctions put on Russia already will put their economy in the tank.

I have no idea whether they like or don't like Andy. The video of him witnessing the violent planning has been released. Him not reporting or warning anyone is fact. Andy getting fired from his journalism job after that is also fact.

None of it matters whether the people like or dislike Andy.

I hope this is not true. If this is true what does NATO do now?

They are not going to rally behind him, his org is corrupt they are fearful, but when they have nothing to eat, no prospects they will overthrow him...that is what we are trying to do here, isolate him from the people that live there....and get them to act.
