not this one, but what little I read--it sounded like the younger man hit this guy with a cell phone? I'll try to watch this video later on if I get some time

Pretty good evidence that he did that prior to the popcorn part.

I will watch the video, but hitting him with the cellphone is supposed to justify shooting him?

It's part of the entirety of the situation.

Situational. I can see it. Big guy going apeshit over a cell phone confrontation, already accosted him twice.

What the lawyer in that video says is true, the prosecution didn’t prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it was self defense.

Great speaker and video, I’ll have to watch more…I’m confused, though. He’s not a lawyer?

    He is a lawyer.

The line I used was from the old comedian, Henny Youngman when someone referred to his wife as a lady and Henny said "that's no lady, that's my wife".

Why on earth should any court case take 8 years? Even if the guy was guilty, he'd have been free for all that time? Or if he was held without bail, someone would be in jail for 8 years awaiting their trial?

I'm betting since he was out and not in jail, the defense took every opportunity to delay the trial.

If he was in jail awaiting trial, defense would take every opportunity to speed things up.

Even though I really hate people carrying guns around. I probably would have found him not guilty also. When you are a old dude and big guy is threatening you for no F'ing reason and physically assaults you even if it's minor, there is fear. Would this have been different if were a small lady or a 18 year old girl?

Yeah, I am sure there are levels to it.

I need to actually read the ins and outs.

I don't think it deserves death, but it takes a real piece of work to strike an old looking man, no matter how obnoxious he was.

On the last part, I get that can sound satisfying but we gotta have better standards for decency.

If the young big guy struck the old man with a cell phone and threw his popcorn he was asking to get shot because no old man is duking it out.

Back in the day I dated this girl who had MS and if we had to walk a lot I would park her car in handicapped, because there were times her legs would just give out and I would have to carry her back to the car. She would be completely fine then boom, could barely walk. We would only do this if we couldn’t get a closer spot in a packed parking lot.

This caused us a lot of hate, nasty grams and whatnot about how we didn’t ‘look’ handicapped, whatever that means.

Anyway, one day we parked at a Walmart in handicapped parking to go shopping. As I get out of the car I feel this tug at my shirt, look at my girl, and she has this horrified look on her face. I turn around and this little old guy, 70+, is red in the face and flat out swinging at me while he screamed how I wasn’t handicapped. I backed up a bit then stood my ground and yelled at him to **** off. He stormed off into Walmart.

So we walk into Walmart but I’m pretty upset by this whole exchange. I decide to just leave and we get in the car to go, and as we’re pulling out the old man is rolling back over with the security guard in his golf cart. He sees us and throws his wallet at the car. I just drive away.

So yes, old farts can get up and start swinging. I had 8 inches and 50 lbs on this old nut and he didn’t give a ****.

That experience is part of why I think the confrontation in the theatre was probably more two sided than it seems. I don’t doubt that the old guy, who had a career of being a cop and people doing what he said, gave some serious attitude to the guy he killed. At the point that he shot the guy was it warranted? Probably, but the old guy more than likely played his part spinning the younger guy up.

Good point. I guess what I'm trying to say is there's a possibility he was justified. It could also be he was instigating and had his part in a murder. I guess we'll never truly know.
