Money that wasn't spent on defense wasn't earmarked to pour into Russia.

Providing jets sounds great but how effective will they be if you need to train pilots to fly them.

    It's the combination.

It wasn't just earmarked to pour into Russia - because of Merkel's abrupt move away from nuclear energy and at the same time, Putin-paid lobbyists like former chancellor Schroeder brokering the Nord Stream deals and Gazprom's expansion - it was actually poured into Russia - not just earmarked.

Gazprom Germania alone generates 15 billion in revenue per year. This is all money that goes directly into the pockets of Putin and his cronies. And that has gone up massively over the last 20 years.

I agree with the sentiment, but I would like the EU to lead NATO, or at least take a much larger roll.

They were brainwashed by Putin thinking they are liberating Ukrainians from their government. Probably why they thought they would support by the people ripped. Rude awaking for sure. I bet Russian morale is pretty low.

I've sung with Russians, and I've sung with Ukrainians, before the fall and they wrote it on the wall (and it wasn't even any Hollywood): they both considered themselves separate countries.

What do Ukrainians think about Poles? Belorussians? Baltics? I'm curious what your experience has been.

it's just my lack of understanding of how many Russian jets NATO countries still fly. I guess the answer is "enough".
