I think the point being that in America, there's always some turds in the punch bowl. If you asked everyone to stay and fight, you'd naturally end up in a civil war, as certain people would turn their guns on you as they questioned your motives.
What concerns me is what Putin will do if this invasion becomes a quagmire for Russia. We saw what his buddy Trump tried to do after losing an election. Just as Trump could not accept defeat, defeat is not an option for Putin. It feels like he would do anything and everything to avoid an embarrassing defeat. With Trump, we had people within our government that prevented him from becoming a dictator. Is there anyone in Russia strong enough to stand up to Putin and rein him in if needed.
