No, but you must admit last night’s loss can be placed at the feet of any number of players before you get to one young Jalen Green. Wood’s free throws. KPJ before he got hurt was stinking it up and unfortunately my boy Josh Christopher did not play up to a standard we would expect. Schroder was a self check from the 3 point line going 0-5.

I know you’re out on Jalen, but if he plays well, he raises that trade value and I know you want to try to trade him for a high lottery pick. JG played well and that’s good for everybody.

That first step is the least of his worries.

    His first step is elite.

It's his finishing "step" at the rim that he needs to perfect.

Looking back, I think I misunderstood this thread title. I thought the Jalen Green Experience was some type of event or showcase. But obviously, the OP meant The Jalen Green Experience as the biggest thing needed Jalen Green to improve. I would say the OP is correct in that Jalen Green has been improving and learning from his Experience. Now I realize the OP was speaking about having patience with Jalen and predicted him needing half a season of experience to reach #2 pick expectations/ROY worthy play.

I hope Jalen can continue to work hard, gain more experience and improve. As the OP said, the Experience is coming, so hopefully the improvement is coming with it.

I noticed this too. He looked a little thicker. Also noticed him going to a pseudo eurostep more which will be huge for him.

If Green got the green light that Cade has he'd be averaging 23+ a game. His defense has come a long way and his playmaking is better than advertised. His efficiency is way better as well. Can't ask for much more from him at this point.

Green has definitely put on 4-5lbs of muscle during the season. Can see the difference.

It doesn't suit his game to get too big, but he needs a couple of summers to put on enough muscle to absorb contact better at the rim and on defense. An easy improvement to his game, highly likely to improve his performance.

The thread reassure people that even though it needs a little more time, it's an Experience worth waiting for.

When you open your eyes to the big picture, all the rookies are not ready for the NBA to varying degrees. Some are 90% ready. Some are 10% ready. The first season is largely irrelevant, no one needs playoff success from a rookie leader. The way they end the season tells me a lot, and I'm keeping a close eye on these last 30 games.

I knew the kid has magic and work ethic, and what I'm seeing is he's rapidly closing the gap on his fellow rookies.

That last "step" includes adding to his bag, losing aversion to contact AS WELL AS adding strength.

His trajectory seems solid. He looks like the real deal - he's putting up healthy production despite limited touches and shots and finding ways to contribute. He's a willing passer, he gets steals, puts effort on defense and is taking better and better shots. He also looks better on finishing and his game is looking more versatile as the season progresses.

You can argue that we should have taken Evan Mobley, and you might be right, but I am not sad we have Green and I definitely think he's starting to live up to expectations nicely.

One area in Green's game that has caught me by surprise is his 3pt game. He is good out there. I thought we were - at best - drafting a guy with a 36% ceiling on low-average attempts for now, but as the season progressed I saw that he's actually got game out on the perimeter. He's not a Westbrook basically. Like he actually knows how to lose his man, use trickery/2mangame to get open and fire quickly like a Reggie Miller or James Harden. He is getting better and better at this, having Sengun out there of course would help a lot.

He's shown the power/capacity to have range on that shot. You can kind of tell when someone launches from 25-30 feet whether that's comfortable for them, and Green has looked as comfortable on those shots as any one even though he's not good at them right now. I wouldn't be surprised if Green was dominant out there by his 3rd season.

We're at SUCH an early juncture of refining and maturing this part of his game, but the signs are good. He has a high release point (when his mechanics are right), elite body control and can blow by you in a flash if you don't give him any space. If his mechanics continue to improve at any kind of pace, the future is bright here.

He's been on a bit of a tear lately, but the most important thing for me is if they've built up his 3pt shot and taught him how to play defense by the end of the season, we will have an unbelievable 20 yr old on our hands moving forward.

IMHO this team does not have enough playing time to go around, trading for picks is not of utmost importance no more.

There should be a need for talent that is 22-25 years old. Frontcourt talent with size and defense.

Hartenstein was MVP when averaged 25 and 15 so I'm not sure what you're trying to say, you can still be good without being in the MVP race lol.

Green was an above ave player in GLeague, he was the best player in GLeague Ignite for sure. He also had 61% TS so he just had low attempts but made the most of it.

Thats due to him being young and lscking strength and experience.

First step is more importsnt since thats mostly god given/talent. Finishing is something he will learn as he grows older.
