I'll be honest. I'm not sure if it's a safe bet on your part. Not because I don't think Green can't average 20+ ppg in the right situation but rather because this team has a lock jam of dudes who need touches(Wood, KPJ, EG, DS etc). I think a safer bet would be 17+ ppg on 55+ ts%.
How the hell is it ambiguous, Edwards numbers are set in stone, don’t try to squirm your way out and lower the bar. 23.8 points 5.3 rebounds 3.4 assists 1.4 steals 0.6 blocks 45.4% fg 34.9% 3pt I’ll bet you $1000 to the tip jar and delete your account as well. You don’t even have to drink anything you don’t want.
Of course I’m not taking that bet. Green will probably ending up beating some of those numbers and not others. So, too cowardly to take the 20 ppg bet?
If you don’t even think 20 ppg is safe then please don’t come in here pumping your chest as if I have egg on my face saying he won’t match post allstar Edwards.
I think you are having trouble following along, I’ll give you a refresher. Multiple people were comparing Green to Edwards to make themselves feel better because they both had terrible pre allstar numbers and Edwards blew up after the allstar break. This is a sample size of 1 and I do not think it’s likely to be replicated, so I offered the bet to the zealots who were so sure of themselves like the OP of this thread. I never made the claim that he can’t score 20 ppg. You don’t get to come in here and lower the bar significantly and act like I’m obligated to defend a position I never took. If you don’t think Green has a chance to match Edwards numbers then you should have been smarter than to poke at me as if I was wrong, because apparently you agree with me.
I’m all talk? lol. I’m very willing to take the bet that I offered from the start. Apparently you are too much of a coward (all talk) to take that bet. I never suggested he can’t score 20, I think it’s possible, which would be welcomed.
No, you’re not following along. Obviously I misunderstood your initial point — I thought you were claiming Green’s post AS break numbers wouldn’t beat Edwards’s overall rookie numbers. Your initial proposed bet is absurd, so I offered a more reasonable bet with more reasonable stakes. If you’re not man enough to take it, fine.
You can’t fault me for your own illiteracy. I agree with you that my original bet is absurd, no way can Green match Edwards numbers, that’s why I offered such ridiculous stakes. But I’m not the one who ever made this comparison, it’s people like the OP of this thread who were the ones who said Green would match Edwards. You see, you and I are actually on the same page, we agree that OP is delusional to suggest something like that. Welcome to the dark side.
Oh is that the reason? There’s an easy fix. For every individual stat that Edwards comes out ahead, you pay $100, for every individual stat that Green comes out ahead I pay $100. I’m going to give you a break and leave out the advanced numbers since Green has no shot at those, we will just do all the box score numbers. Who ever ends up paying more deletes their account. Fixed your parlay problem. All good now, deal?
I’m not agreeing to delete my account, nor do I expect Green to match Edwards raw numbers because he’s not shooting nearly as often. We can, however, discuss terms about efficiency percentages. I’ll bet $20 on steals, FG%, 3 pt%, and TS%. I’ll also bet $20 Green will average more than 20 ppg going forward. Total amount at stake: $100. Deal?
lol you don’t get to make your own bet i made the claim that Green won’t match Edwards post allstar, I made the bet based on that you came in here to laugh at me after Green had a good game then completely lowers the bar on my bet and chooses your own set of parameters like a coward don’t poke at someone if you can’t back up your words and try to weasel your way out, learn your lesson. We both agree that Green is no where near Edwards, no bet needed
I don’t agree that Green is “no where near Edwards.” If he averages 20 ppg going forward and matches or beats Edwards’s efficiency numbers, that’s just as impressive. It’s not Green’s fault we’re not featuring him as much as we should. If you’re convinced Green is “no where near” Edwards, you’d take my bet. Since you’re not, it appears you’re not as confident as your words indicate. In short, thou does protest too much.
