I’m just laying out a scenario where it might make sense.

Five years is really pessimistic. We will have a top 5 pick at the least this year, next year’s pick outright. A good solid core of developing rookies, plus some good young developing vets in KPJ, KJM, Tate, Matthews. Wall will be off the books after next year and Gordon will either be moved or bought out next year. I think we will actually compete for the play-in in 2023 and make major moves either via trade and/or FA at the end of the season. If we do indeed really suck in 2023 we still have a chance at top 1-4 pick in 2024. I am confident we will be in the playoffs for real in 2024 at the latest.

    I sure hope not.

He's a dollar store version of Chris Bosh.

Should have been traded for whatever they could get to let the young kids play. His timeline doesn't sync with the rockets timeline.

I dont think nobody wants Houston right now. So its threw the draft or nothing. Not until Jalen Green shines, if he does is the real point.

The best 2 free agents to sign with the Rockets in the past 25 years are Dwight and a washed up Pippen. Houston isn’t a free agent destination.

There are some good stuff at the dollar store. Chocolate bunnies after Easter and those edwards ice cream cakes. Both could probably sell a screen better than Wood. And that's nothing against Wood.

That’s an entirely different topic. But if that’s your rationale for giving him the max, that’s ok.

it was actually cp3. but yeah it needed harden to give him a actual reason to come here, since they wanted to play together. and you're right Houston isn't a high FA destination. I've said that also before. It's more like the last resort type of situation

What would you give him? I mean he is playing incredibly well, and while he seems emotional, he does seem loyal to the organization. I didn't k now about the practices though. Is that still an issue?

You must be smoking more than weed my Dude. No way in hell I’m giving Wood the max for any reason.

Technically a trade for CP3 but I guess he did choose to come to the Rockets at the end of the day. The point is star free agents choosing Houston have been few and far between.

Question: RIGHT NOW - Who would you take WOOD or CAPELA?
Cause I think if he gets more than Capela Money I will be a bit disappointed

Idk how capela is playing right now but at his best he provides more to winning basketball than wood does. Wood is an atrocious defender. As a 5 he matches up with wings and even then he doesn’t rotate down to help our guards and leaves the weak side shooter open every play. He is a garbage team defender. He’s a weak rebounder. Don’t let his overall numbers distract you from the fact that any big with any amount of size bodies him and takes away contested rebounds. Carter jr and zubac have had their way with this guy. I’d rather pay 18 million for a team defender rim runner who plays his role than a selfish big man who is allergic to contact and defense.

even if you want to pay him near 20 he’s not worth the salary slot. You’d be better off giving that salary to a low usage big wing who can play defense and finding any rim running 5.

I think other teams see through his stats and aren't willing to bite and pay anything of value for him.

It's sad because I thought some team might be foolish enough to think he contributes to winning. Maybe Wood has a reputation around the league

Yeah, I sure hope he gets dealt in the offseason. He and EG should have been gone at the deadline. Maybe the org feels like they need some semblance of structure at other positions for the youngins to develop. But, both of these guys are injuries waiting to happen. EG surely won't ever be worth any more than he was then. Unfortunately, I too, could see them signing CW. smh
