Now would be a good time to revisit Biden's financial ties to Russia and Ukraine. They made his family rich by channeling money through Hunter Biden.

Yeah I don't think so. As I posted earlier, I would guess a super paranoid and powerful ex-KGB guy would be the hardest guy to pick off. The dude obviously knows the assassination game and there's a reason he now sits 100 ft away from everyone at his meetings.

Interesting. You mean the guy who definitely undermined our support for Ukraine and did what he could to weaken our relationships with NATO allies, not to mention promoting Putin talking points over US Intel reports? The guy who got impeached for his thug-like interactions with the former Soviet state in question?

I mean, I would rather talk about the here and now, but by all means, go for it. I have to sadly admit Trump looks a million times more relevant than presidential relatives that never held office.

I thought this thread was about Ukraine? As long as the former President keeps interjecting himself into this conversation then he will be discussed. The guy doesn't know how to shut the **** up, release a statement and be done with it. Mainstream media isn't asking Obama what he thinks or Bush how he would have handled the situation.

Some sober military analysis from some pointy military heads in the UK.
TL;DR = Ukraine probably surprising Russia with its resistance, but they will still be overwhelmed. Most of their forces are pinned down and will eventually get surrounded.

I mean, it should be fairly clear to most that Trump, at the very least was potentially an enabler of this situation.

He pissed off Germany by constantly trying to kill Nord Stream 2, and asking them to spend more for NATO defense.

More NATO defense spending by Germany would have been nice right about now.

The Nord Stream 2 bypasses Ukraine screwing them out of cash and getting Germany gas for cheaper. Biden removed Trumps sanctions on the pipeline, before he reinstated them recently in response to the war.

I'm asking you, so answer. Do you want us to draft everyone 18-30 to join our forces and get out there and fight Russia with everything we've got?

    MOAR info on her.
    https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2021/12/13/the-accidental-revolutionary-leading-belaruss-uprising

"Tsikhanouskaya was not a career politician; she was the daughter of a truck driver, a mother of two who had set aside a career as an English teacher in order to help her deaf son learn to speak. An improbable series of events had propelled her to challenge President Alexander Lukashenka, the last dictator in Europe, for the leadership of Belarus."

I'm sure Putin has this in his calculations, but it would be interesting if Belarus becomes more of a headache for him. Some of you don't remember the exact erosion of the USSR, but it was like so many headaches in so many places.

Yes, he pissed off and alienated Europe to the point where they didn't feel like they could rely on the US as a trusted ally in the future so they started building closer ties to Russia and China. How is this a good thing?

How so? Is NATO lacking funds? Lacking supplies/troops/etc?

It's interesting, and I know you study freedom of information (at least as a passionate hobby), but what do you think: Does an average Russian become more compliant when they see two huge platforms blocked by their leader or when they can read the governments info campaign, read Twitter and Facebook, and decide for themselves? I don't know how to answer that, because I don't think I've ever understood the average Russian citizen. (I'm sure Putin understands it much much better than you or I, even if he's losing his marbles a little bit.)

I agree it's slow going but literally the 2nd half of the tweet explains what the US is waiting for.
