Such a small sample size, but against Suggs and Wagner, Still can't see how folks say they would have drafted Suggs over Green.

Rockets really have a lot of options in this upcoming draft. I agree with you and we might have a 2nd almost lotto pick too.

Another thing I noticed is he plays better against the other top rookies. This is game another example of that.

Green did all he could down the stretch and made some sick clutch buckets, just hope he can continue to keep it up with Wood continuing to get in the way. Wood belongs with the Kings or the Knicks where he can eat up all the touches and be all about himself

Tate: "That's one guy I can say is always willing to learn."

Silas: "It's not just the games. It's also the work he puts in."

I guess they paid Silas and Tate some kind of bonus today for saying these things. I was told it's all PR fluff. That's some incredible PR.

As bad as his season has been overall, the flashes of greatness are promising.

So let’s say last night game was the norm for him - and he would be averaging something like 20ppg 4 Rebs, 1 steal on 45, 35, 80 shooting. Where would that pit him in the roty rankings? Would people still say. Mobley and Cunningham do more overall so should be higher? Or would we say a scorer that can create his own shot and is clutch should be the roty?

last nights green is the one I was hoping to see all season. Hopefully he doesn’t get into one of those January stretches again soon…

Edwards rookie year: 19 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal

Green tonight: 23 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals

This post is going to be fun to bump.

Are you kidding? If he averaged 20 points all season, of course he'd be leading the ROTY rankings.

no I was honestly curious. A lot of people here are saying, that you don’t pick a sag that high because all he does is score. Now that star line was my hope but also kinda my expectation for him this year and that’s why I wanted him over Mobley. But with everything I am reading here I had the feeling, that a lot of people would still want Mobley over him with that stats because of defense and rebounding.

It would put him in the mix but he would still be behind Mobley, Cade and Barnes and prob on the same tier as Wagner.

Green creating his own shot is inferior to Cade and Barnes who create for others on top of their own shot and also play defense. Mobley got credited for turning the Cavs around so I dont see anybody beating him for roty.

I think for Green he just needed some time to grow up he is 8 months younger on average compared tp his peers. Sure thats less than 1 year, but for these prospects a short amount of time changes them so much in his senior year in HS Holmgren was shooting like 30% on 3s. Its only been 3 mos and now he is a literal sniper hitting 44% on more than 3 attempts.

He did really well in GLeague cuz thats mostly contactless, he has good mechanics and a solid foundation so he showed out even if the competition is better than college. In the NBA though people are a lot more physical so thsts where he struggled, he lacked strength to rpoperly finish plays and also got bodied up everywhere. Our team didnt do him any favors either, we lacked a real pg and employed 0 spacing as well.

One major advantage to having Green also is he fits with everyone in the top 5, unlike say if we had Mobley or Cade, then they'd play the same position as Ivey or Chet.

Scoring 17.9 ppg in 31 minutes, 36.5% from 3 is not considered very good in the GLeague.

Heck, Hartenstein averaged 25 and 15 in the GLeague in his last season there.

He is actually doing better in the NBA than the GLeague in February.

I'm a believer that it comes out later that the Rockets trainers were
working Jalen Green hard with weight lifting workouts during
    most of the season....

except as he came out of November when he recovered from
the hamstring strain and the month of February as he prepared
    for All Star competition.

The two stretches of time where he hasn't looked completely gas'd

He mainly needs to work on his handles right now.

He has made incredible strides on defense, he doesn't even look remotely like the same player from the start of this season in this aspect.

    He said post asb.

Ant put up 24,5 and 3 with 35% 3 point shooting post asb last year.
