Mine was a 67 bug, white with red interior. I think the 67 had another hamster in the back and could have smoked Deck's Comet Deck, what is this Holley carburetor you speak of?
LOL! Honestly, I didn't remember that, it had been so long ago, and was looking up the engine on the web and discovered that tidbit. No kidding! In 1960, the only engine available was the 144 cid Thriftpower straight six with a single-barrel Holley carburetor which produced 90 hp (67 kW) at 4200 rpm. (Some sources list it as producing 85 hp (63 kW) at 4200 rpm.) Transmission options were a column-shifted 3-speed manual and a 2-speed Merc-O-Matic automatic transmission (unique to the Comet, despite sharing a name with the Merc-O-Matic installed in other Mercurys). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Comet
Answered the question in the last "What was your first car" thread. 2002 F150...which was totaled last winter...
1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra. Grandma car that would start vibrating if you pushed it over 65. Funny story it was stolen from a movie theater parking lot in Houston. So I bought a 91 Eclipse. Wrecked the Eclipse into an 18 wheeler (his fault) and totaled it. They towed it to my house and 24 hours later I get a call from the police saying they found the Olds wrecked and I needed to pick it up from the lot. Insult to injury I have to pay the lot fees on my stolen wreckage. Anyway I have it towed home and my Eclipse and Olds are sitting side by side completely wrecked in the driveway until pick-a-part hauls them away.
Anyone that knows a Miata can be a beast on the track. I would assume the perception is b/c an S2000 is only offered in a manual transmission? Sure there are women who can drive stick, but more often than not, they can't. It's just some lame macho BS. If you like the Miata, enjoy your Miata. That's what I say.
Their cheap and pretty fast with the right mods, I got it for $3,000, and after a swap to a manual trans, it was an awesome car to drive to high school, wish I would have been more careful that one rainy day.
I am a bit confused. Don't you get "smaller" tires and raise the suspension so that there is more space right above the tires? It seems you're going the other way with suspension and tire size. I'm being serious. If you want a racing car, why not just buy a racing car with the rims already there?
My parents gave me one of their work vehicles 84? Dodge Ram Charger (my dad was a land surveyor on the side...and was winding down his business)...was like this but a dark forest green. I hated this car...had a vacuum hose problem and would randomly stall at stop lights. So embarrassing as a high school kid. Stupid Dodge dealership in Huntsville could never figure it out. My first car that I actually purchased and made payments on was 86 Pontiac Grand Am SE. Loved that car. Very similar to this one. All black.
