On assassination, maybe I'm not seeing some of the posts about that, but it doesn't make sense to me. If anyone on this planet understands modes of assassination and has made themselves assassination-proof, it's Uncle Putie. It just seems like a dead end, but maybe I lack imagination. In terms of who replaces him, if and when he dies, optimistically we could hope for a Krushchev-like figure, full of bluster but seizing the opportunity to move away from many of the harshest authoritarian aspects of Stalin. It's mainly lost to history, but Krushchev and Kennedy were developing a relationship before they were both killed/kicked-out. According to Krushchev's son, they had even discussed uniting their space-faring programs. But we're a long way, I would guess, from the end of Putin. Sigh. Just another of history's major assholes.
Comrad please explain exactly what Trump would have done to prevent Putin from invading a sovereign country??? In order to be taken seriously here you need to provide specifics. And no... corruption behind closed doors is not a virtue as you guys seem to be hinting as the reason why war wouldn't happen with Trump.
Putin had an American president who not only hated our traditional alliances but, by all accounts, planned on pulling out of NATO had he won a second term. Biden has been able to unite a diverse array of European allies against Putin when nobody is willing to commit troops to defending Ukraine. Considering that military action is off the table (and it would've certainly not been an option under an isolationist Trump), what else is to be done against an irrational Russia?
Being a huge fan of Dr Steelhammer, I was never on board with him dating that little munchkin. He has been an exemplary boyfriend/ fiancé and now father to their child. She’s the example of a spoiled Hollywood brat with mental issues. The question is how would the world react when Dr Steelhammer die while fighting to protect his beloved Ukraine now that he’s recently enlisted in the army? We have the fukking braindead Brandon to thank for all of this mess. I might not agree with Trump on a few things but that man kept us out of wars by making us strong and energy independence, so assholes like Putin or WinnieThePooPoo or any other bad actors won’t start no mess. The things you liberals in here would never understand.
Trump didn't hold back Putin. Putin was waging a war in Eastern Ukraine for the entire Trump presidency, setting the stage for an eventual invasion. This was discussed openly over the last 4 years. Ukranians even pushed back on the idea that NOW they are war with Russia. Ukraine was begging for military aid during the Trump admin and it wasn't to fight some poorly armed separatists. They were fighting Russia in a proxy war. Everyone has been saying this was an eventuality for a decade. Putin has been slowly ratcheting up. Nobody was going to stop Putin unless there was actual military force guaranteeing Ukraine and nobody was willing to do that. Once Ukraine overthrew their Putin puppet government this was the eventual outcome unless NATO guaranteed them.
Russian stock market down 30%+ today. Currency hit a record low. Putin is effectively bankrupting his people 1 day into this - that's before new sanctions/etc.
i hope youre joking with this post...if not, this might be the dumbest thing i have ever read in my 20 years of being on here.
The stupid libs here in this forum will never understand your point nor making the connection. This is all on the feeble, Depends wearer, Ramen noodles brain in charge. He turned us into a weakling right in front of our enemies on day one when he took office by making us energy dependent, so he can please his puppet masters.
Trumps coddling of Putin helped Russia do this. Had Trump taken a stiffer stance to Russian meddling in our elections and slammed Russia with real sanctions, they wouldn't have the resources to launch this invasion.
Only an idiot thinks that a president can turn a country from energy independent to energy dependent in 12 months of office.
It didn't take long for the US to route Saddam and remove him did it? Occupying a country isn't just about logistical challenges.
How you continue to blame the US for a mad crazy Dictator's actions is the most mind boggling of all.
You underestimate how Brandon can fukk things up completely. Those are the words of your fave president Obama himself. Maybe the idiot is staring back at you in the mirror.
LOL, this false narrative continues, even after it has been proven that the Russian collusion wild goose chase was invented by the Clinton campaign. Once again proving the point that it's easier to fool people than to convince people that they've been fooled... Trump held Putin in check. Biden and Obama let Putin move on them without repercussion. They are weak and the world knows it. Actions speak louder than words. Man, I would pick mean tweets over feckless foreign policy any day of the week. Trump was simply a better President and leader.
What I find interesting is Putin knew he would have blowback and that's why he's cracked down like never before, and is publicly beating his chest to say "do not do it!" in regards to mass protest. I think this is because he knows that the military is stretched right now and he'll need military intervention in order to hold back a large scale protest like we've seen in the past. He's got the forces to do it, but this would be maybe the worst possible time for him to defend himself in Moscow if a large scale revolution-like protest took place.
