You are seriously posting this in a discussion about Ukraine? For your information @Roc Paint, Putin's Russian military has begun attacking Ukraine. There have been explosions heard by several news sources in the two largest cities in the country, Kyiv (Kiev), the capital, and Karkiv. Both are cities with well over a million innocent civilians. I won't get into how bizarre your post was.

I’ve been hearing people say that the Ukrainian people will fight hard against Russian troops. I hope that is the case, but i’m not so sure. If the people are willing to fight for their independence, I would like to see the rest of the world join in the fight. Sadly, I think Ukraine is on its own. I’m not terribly knowledgeable in these matters, but the first 30 years of my life was during the Cold War and I hate to see what is now happening.

Putin wasn't going to invade while his boy was in the White House. Trump just blew Putin again yesterday. Just sayin. So spectacularly dim.
Russia is going to stomp, even if their planning is totally incompetent. They have ridiculous size, training and technology advantages. The best bet for Ukrainians is to bleed Russia through an insurgency. They have no chance of actually repelling the Russians. They just need to bleed them as much as they are able and hope it adds up over time.
I agree we need to be extremely careful about going into direct conflict with Russia and so far the Administration has done that. That said simply just overlooking this or worse praising Putin's move isn't good either. Ukraine does actually matter given that a new Soviet Union will be a direct threat to countries that we are now treaty bound to protect. Appeasement of Putin will likely make things more tense and uncertain in the World. Rather than making NATO irrelevant will lead to a further arming of NATO countries. At the minimum this will lead to a new cold war.
