Need bail reform, or even easier, vote out these awful criminal court judges.

Trump lost and all of sudden these judges are handing out light sentences and bonds for these hardcore criminals. You also get to carry guns without a CHL which has increased the violence in Houston

    We know what you're doing.

It's some of the issue, but clearly not the ONLY or even the most pressing issue. Folks resist having their taxes raised (and are tired of having taxes wasted on frivolous items). As a result, funding for courts, cops, equipment, jails/prisons, public defenders, corrections officers goes extremely underfunded and like a bucket of water with a wide open spigot that splashes out the criminals are turned loose on society because there is no place else for them to go.

Criminality receives light to no punishment as a result...even for multiple offenders. Deterrence disappears. Crime pays. People who might have been deterred in the past no longer are. The problem grows and frankly I see no end in sight.

Most criminal court judges in Harris County are democrats.

People complain when bail is too easy to achieve.

People complain when bail is too onerous.

    Can't win.

some of this is common sense.

dude who attempts to kill his girlfriend gets bail
ends up killing his girlfriend after bail

People do not remember the 90's when crime was a lot worse.

We incarcerated a lot of people, and multiple offenders were locked up until they were old or died.

Younger people like to point at the Clinton Crime Bill as some racist and archaic piece of legislation, but at the time many of the people pushing for the bill were people in the highest crime neighborhoods.

I don't believe small non violent criminals should be held, but violent criminals should have a very hard time getting bail, and certainly not "no bail".

We need a lot more jails and prisons if we want to keep the bad people locked up for a long time. Right?

Quick and easy access to guns appears to be a big problem. Two people get into an argument and the next thing you know the bullets are flying. People used to have fist fights, now they have gun fights.

there's been so many, felon caught for attempted murder of girlfriend or another person, gets bail, then completes his original task of murdering his target

what are the odds of violent criminals suddenly finding Jesus and become some pillar of the community between bail and court date?

Bingo. It's all about resource allocation, which can be a bottlenecked cluster**** in any bureaucratic organization.

Ease off the non-violent crimes, legalize any drug less harmful than alcohol, hold violent suspects, focus your manpower on violent crimes.
