Who cares about what players or owners want? Zero emotional investment in this lockout/strike… whatever. I’ve put in my mind the season will start in 2023. If it starts sooner… awesome. I love baseball but I won’t be mad or hurt if baseball is delayed. Already went through that with Covid. Baseball will be back at some point and if it is t this year then it is what it is.
That's cool I'm much more emotionally invested in it I guess. Yes, went through it with Covid, but personally I hated it then too I don't watch the NBA much, certainly not enough to be emotionally invested there anymore. Not really into going to the movies, not big on the theater scene...I love baseball, so I care about what the players or owners want to the extent that it affects whether or not we have a season. I care about that part greatly
Pretty easily one of the 10 most talented rosters of all time. Really a shame they didn’t win it all.
2019 Astros, 2016 Warriors, 2007 Patriots. Teams that will always be remembered despite not winning it all.
2000 Mariners. That's the beauty of baseball. The ending is never guaranteed. The best teams lose 50+ games per year The best hitters fail to get a hit 65+ times In 100 Any team can beat any other team on any given day. That's also why the season must be so long, playoff series should be long, and there should be fewer teams in the playoffs.
But the 2001 (it was 2001, correct?) Mariners didn't make the World Series and almost lost the division series as well. At least those three other "GOAT" teams were all one game away from winning it all. I agree that baseball shouldn't expand the playoffs... but unfortunately (or fortunately) they get more viewers and casual fans in the playoffs and want to optimize it.
Yeah. Pressly's injury in 2019 is often overlooked. He was an all star, amazing/dominant... and even though he was able to come back late (and got a huge key out in the ALCS vs the Yankees), he wasn't the same while Harris stepped up seamlessly in that role. Also Harris threw a quality pitch.
