I guess he stocked up on honey with the last raid
Ending was weaker than other eps, but fit just fine with trashy 80s shows that had a simple end of season high note (A Team, Knight Rider).

I liked the 80s soul with the current climate. Allows them to push edges without getting too full of itself.

But yeah, the comedy is hit or miss.

So all along the butterflies were just trying to save the planet from its biggest threat: right wingers. Not the heroes we deserve…

Finished it last night. Overall I enjoyed it. The last 2 episodes weren't great but oh well.

Really empressed with Cena's acting. I thought he did great. And I never once skipped the intro. Great intro.

Nah, power corrupts. Having too many people or diversity also distorts consensus and unity,

If they were really benevolent, they'd be more upfront about their plans rather than enslaving everyone without people knowing.

    Just finished.

Great show. Only real beef was at the end the girl said fascist and libertarian as if they were the same. Lots of ignorance out there.

    And I have a 9:00 call, damnit...

Tongue in cheek usage of Libertarian. The name of the ideology has been co-opted by the nutso right-wing set.

Just finished binging this show over the weekend. I loved it so much. I feel like DC needs to embrace this style and aesthetic for all their properties rather than trying to be a poor copy of what Marvel does. They aren't going to out-Marvel Marvel, but if they stick with the James Gunn style of comedy and action, I think they could carve out their own thing that would be quite popular. They have just the right blend of absurdist humor, action and heart. I'm hoping the cameos at the end of the fight scene in the finale are an indication that DC/Warner Bros is willing to do that.

Cena was amazing and hilarious, Harcourt was amazing and I was rooting for her so hard there at the end, Eagly is the best sidekick pet ever, but most of all I could watch an entire show of Vigilante. Until he took off his mask, I was halfway convinced that it was Ryan Reynolds in that costume just screwing with us by playing a similar character in two different universes. But over time Vigilante proved to be different enough to Deadpool that it wasn't distracting. Each character was really well fleshed out despite limited screen time, in some cases. I also like that we've gone from Waller being this incredibly smart, capable mastermind pulling the strings in the background character in the early DC stuff to being someone whose machinations blow up in her face every time. That's fun.

Oh, and that fight scene in the season finale was TOP NOTCH. As was the post-credits scene where the butterfly police chief gives instructions on the proper way to clean oneself during his press conference. That had me rolling.

I disagree. Look at The Dark Knight, The Batman, the Snyder Cut of Justice League, Wonder Woman. The Peacemaker style works with a goofy property like Peacemaker or the Suicide Squad, but they have shown that taking their characters absolutely seriously works for the DC universe at large.

I didn't think the Snyder cut of Justice League was any better than the original theatrical release. Still pretty much garbage.

I will admit the others you listed are fantastic movies and I was surprised by how much I loved The Batman. I guess they can do both, it just feels like their track record when they go goofy is a LOT better than otherwise. DC has put out a lot stinkers.

    Neither.

Saying it wasn't any better is probably an exaggeration, but I still didn't enjoy the movie and it still felt like a slog with a bunch of characters that didn't give a **** about each other and whom I didn't give a **** about (which suuuuuuuuucks because I thought Henry Cavill was perfect as Superman in Man of Steel). I don't know if it was the writing or the casting or some combination of both, but NONE of the characters in either cut left a lasting impression on me. It was better than the theatrical release, but not enough to save it.

    I am here for this.

Date announced for Peacemaker season two

James Gunn is describing the second season of Peacemaker as 'one of his favourite things ever.' As Peacemaker season one was one of my favourite things ever, this statement excites me. According to GamesRadar, there's finally a date to focus that excitement on: August 25th.

Now that he's done apologizing for recognizing Taiwan as a nation, John Cena will be back along with the rest of his merry band of rejects, as they awkwardly try to save the world. Sadly, we'll only get eight episodes in season two, just like we saw with the series' first season. But we'll have to make do.

The burning question right now isn't what will or won't be canon from the first seasons in Gunn's rollout of the DCU. It's whether or not there'll be a new dance number for Peacemaker's opening credits.

Yeah, I'm excited for this, but it's been so long I may just have to rewatch season 1 rather than do the Youtube summary thing I typically do to bone up on past seasons.

Brain worms took over the government, so it's pretty topical
