Nobody will ever convince me it's a good idea to have 40m in cap salary sat on the bench when they're healthy and can play. You either move them or you play them, and people think Stone's actually a good GM? It's insanity. People on this board talking about Gordon/Wood etc is bad asset management, but totally cool with Wall sitting on the bench. Straight up joke tier management. I guess if nothing else it shows we're consistent with putting absolute trash tier people in positions of authority. GM, Coach, it's all bad.
Trading John Wall doesn't get any easier going forward, in fact it gets more difficult to match salary as his salary increases and it goes up $3m for next season. If John Wall wants to play next year, he has to decline the player option.
why are people blaming stone tilman runs this franchise with an iron fist. Every move that gets made is done through his meddling approval this is probably another one of Patrick’s burners
None really, I expect him to get paid and stay healthy while we develop younger players. He can move on for a ring afterwards, we're still in the top 4 odds wise for a top pick.
Shut up you weird mother****er. Patrick's burner account? Grow the **** up, the GM is straight balls, as is the owner and the coach. If you can't see it you must be r****ded.
gm doesn’t have authority to make moves without tilmans penny punching approval. But yea keep blaming stone
Bullshit, stop pretending like you have insider info. We get it, you don't like Tilman, and have Stones member stuck in your throat. All of them take some blame.
After Silver came out and called us out, I doubt we're getting a top 3 pick this year. He'll do everything in his power to rig it against us.
Silver, Tilly, Pebbles, Smilas - ALL can get the blame for being trash in their own roles. The rockets are Consistently Incompetent on many levels - Luck is our only way out to me now…… we have to hit on a franchise player at some point
I'm sure Houston would be more than happy to negotiate a buy out but this is a contract working the way a contract is supposed to - Wall wants the money and Houston doesn't need his services anymore so here we are. What are they supposed to do, make him suit up and sit on the bench every game? There really isn't a way the league can "fix" this without opening up another can of worms that probably looks even worse and what is happening right now is the method with the most empowered player because Wall has a choice and he has chosen to take all the money in that contract even if the team isn't playing him. Houston is looking to the future and while Wall is better than our rooks, he also has nothing to offer the franchise because he doesn't make us good enough to be worth sacrificing playing time and touches for the rooks who could be part of our long term future. This happens every day in the league - it's no different than a player not being good enough and being asked to sit on the bench...it's just that THIS player makes $40/mil a year. Victim of his own circumstances but that's literally the job he signed up for when he signed on the line for $40mil - no different from a player who signed a contract with a team who then somehow acquired another player at the same position that they would prefer play instead and now the original player is sitting on the bench wishing they had signed elsewhere in a more favorable playing situation. If his ego or brand can't take sitting on the bench in uniform not being played, then the next best thing is to have him in street clothes.
If Bradley Beal were involved (probably routed to another team for some goodies?) Of course, Wall wouldn't be so thrilled if he arrived in DC to find the cupboard as bare as Houston's.
Wall is happy collecting his money. The Rockets are eating their crow like grown men, so what is the problem? Nobody is crying…
