I would do this in a heartbeat…Young would probably be the first pick in this draft and you get 3 more years of his rookie contract.
My favorite "what if" trade was Watson to the Bengals for their first overall pick in the Burrow/Young draft. Draft Young to pair with Watt, sign Brady. Could have been a fun two years...
Yeah, I think him getting paid last year without playing was an anomaly. I expect he knows that as well. if he doesn't start to give a little in where he's willing to go, the Texans are not going to eat his full cap hit. He's going to be fined, and probably placed on the exempt list.
Just came in to say I’d bet Deshaun for Chase Young and either 2 1sts or a 1st and multiple 2nds/3rds/4ths would happen if Deshaun wants to go to Washington. That’s prob an unlikely scenario sadly.
No strings attached, take this deal and run as fast as you can to get the paperwork turned into the NFL office.
I don't want Murray. I feel like at some point he is just going to go play baseball and leave his team hanging. Also I am a longhorn so their is built in hate for him
1 first round pick and Chase Young? No. Emphatically no. Geezus, Stephon Diggs went for 2 firsts. Jalen Ramsey. Jamal Adams. Jay ****ing Cutler went for 2 firsts, a 3rd, and Kyle Orton. Y'all have way too much PTSD over the garbage trades the Texans made during the BOB era to understand what a reasonable return looks like.
It really is according to what other offers start to come in. LIke it or not, Watson is damaged goods. I think one other 1st round pick and the rest of the trade would do the trick.
Other ways to look at are Chase Young would probably go for 2 1st round picks or Chase Young is more valuable than say the 25th pick in 2023 and the 27th pick in 2024 or a proven pro bowl caliber player is a better option than a couple of unknowns. Between his contract, no trade clause and current situation that’s wouldn’t a bad haul.
