Zero and continue the loser mentality of players wearing #1 for us since 2004 save Ariza…but he will start, make no mistake.
Even SI is getting in on trading Wall. https://www.si.com/nba/clippers/news/rate-the-trade-john-wall-to-the-clippers
If the Clippers were really in on Wall I'd do that trade in literally one second. You get Morris, Pat Be (one of my favorite all-time Rockets), Kennard (a great shooter on a reasonable contract that's tradable later), and a wild card in Rondo. There's also an alternative deal floating around with Ibaka/Kennard/Beverley (assuming Ibaka opts in). Either one I'd happily do to get rid of a player literally all of us would be happy to be rid of. Huge win. I can't imagine the Clippers would be desperate enough to actually do this, but you never know.
Ibaka could be a good mentor for Mobley. Tempting to keep Wall to command tank war2 but Id rather throw KPJ in the fire.
I expect John Wall to play fewer than 41 games, like he has for the last 3 years, and have insurance pick up 80 percent of his salary because of his lingering injury. Doesn't help the salary cap, but saves Tillman money.
Like on the Price Is Right show; but instead of going one dollar more than your bid I will be happy with 18 points...8 asts....3.5 rebs...1.2 stls....28 minutes I'm hoping Wall is more efficient in less minutes so that Porter/Green get more fun time
Didn’t see any active Wall threads in the GARM, but what’re the expectations for him? Is he returning soon? Why’s his role and level of play going to be? Any chance he’s still an above average or close to all star level player? I know his contract is horrendous but what’re we looking at here? I thought he was going to play by now. Now that Green is returning, and DJ’s positive play, I just don’t see where he’ll get minutes. Staggered 15-20 off the bench? Do we just sit DJ?
Benching Wall is still the right move. He's not future of this team, minutes are hard to come by for the young guards as is. Rockets need more games to see if KPJ should be extended (and how much to extend). With kpj's injury, all it did was lose more data points on the evaluation. I also don't believe Wall should play off the bench, that should go to Christopher. With rebuilds, fans are suffering through losses, so playing time for development and evaluation are valuable. Info for Stone to know if he should go after another guard prospect at next draft or via a Wood/Gordon trade. Playing Wall would only distract the team from their long term goals. Wall has one more year after this season, then we're free. I could careless about the contending teams who needs a PG; they want Wall's service but don't want to foot the bill. The contract is too big, I personally wouldn't pay either, in which case, they should just be quiet and leave how our team on how we handle him. If a team becomes desperate over the summer for that last year, fine. The final year price tag is already listed.
