I am sure it sucks. That doesn't mean that performing a double mastectomy and injecting testosterone makes a women a man. Speaking that truth is more important to society than being polite.

As someone who coached a trans athlete (male to female) in Judo and Jujitsu she didn't end up dominating her female competition nor did she dominate male competition. I didn't know her when she was a man but when she was a still a he he was on the smaller side and would've competed at the lightest male weight class. As a female she competed at a middle weight class for women and while a good competitor still got beat by other women who were more skilled even at the same weight.

That said there are skeletal and muscular differences that become more obvious during puberty and I don't think hormonal changes in adulthood can really undo those. For sports like swimming where upper body strength matters a lot that might be a very big advantage. For larger trans females competing against cis females in sports like Judo that might also be a bigger advantage than smaller athletes. In those situations I would be careful because anytime you get a big disparity in strength there is a greater potential of injury.

All of this though is dealing with the realm of sports and at the moment I don't think there are many trans athletes in any sport. I also think the fear that males will deliberately undergo sex changes so they can win in female sports is very overblown. I know this is a sports board but honestly how many men out there would consider getting a sex change including surgically changing your genitals just to win in the Women's division?

Overall for the rest of society I don't think concern about sports should hold back tolerance and acceptance of trans people.

Great example. Why are Semenya's natural born traits grounds for dismissal? Yet Simone Bile's traits, which makes her one of the all-time elite athletes' by a country mile ahead of the competition, her traits are not grounds for dismissal? Both women excelled at their sports. Some natural traits are okay ...others are not?

If being trans (or simply sharing traits with males) is so definitive, how come every sport isn't dominate by trans women? Short answer, being trans doesn't mean you'll be dominant. Being a superior athlete (with the right mix of motivation, opportunity, mentally, and physical ability) is what makes a winner.

To emphasize the ridiculousness of allowing transgrnders to compete as women

The point is the women are getting screwed. Is that hard to understand? They are getting screwed by having to compete against a guy. The point is she still has the man advantage.

This person is a selfish POS as far as I'm concerned.

Biological men competing against women make up an insignificant portion of the transgender population. Yet it becomes a rallying cry for all the bigots who won't let people live their lives. You know you have an unfair advantage, and you know this is gonna make all transgender people look bad, but you do it anyway.

I doubt there are any. There isn't much money in women's sports, and any game comes with huge drawbacks.

“Woke” women playing their card only to get outsmarted by white dudes who know they can play it better.

All my female friends are aonpissed about this movement but have nothing to say when called out about how the majority of feminists etc made similar excuses in the name of “equality” and rallied behind this when it was politically advantageous for them

    hilarious

So, uhhh...let's just give a good ole cup check before the whistle blows...

In all seriousness, though, genitals and chromosomes should be the first and last definition of what sex people compete as, and then outside of sports, WGAF?

Back to being silly....is Lia Thomas allowed to get into a street brawl at the bar with another woman if she was provoked? What would people say about that? Just a disagreement?
