Everything that is stopping him from scoring at will is him right now but they are all things he can improve When he gets stronger he will finish more at the rim, and that will increase his drives to the bucket. That will open his shot up which will allow it to improve.
Yea we dont know, but realistically Im picking Mobley or Barnes every time if I had to start over like right at this minute.
What makes you think he blew the pick? You cant make that prediction for atleast 2 more years. Green is showing potential and only time will tell if this was a bad pick. It's ok if Mobely and green both end up being good players. It also will depend on who rockets can get in the next draft.
I would only pick Mobely over him if I had a do over but I am also going to be ok if we get someone close to as good as him in the next draft bc then the question will be was there a better guard the rockets could have picked than green. I don't think they would have picked 2 big men in consecutive years so it's a matter of the guard big man combo you get not just one pick. Also I doubt we move up to trade for senguin of we draft Mobely with wood on the roster
I had to quit watching the game because the team defense was so ****ing disgusting. Nice to see Green is getting more comfortable with his shot, but I feel like he has much more upside other than just shooting. When I watch him I can't help but feel his abilities would be much better exploited with a coach that isn't the bottom of the barrel. Overall really nice progress this month with the shooting percentages 46.4% FG%, 41.1% 3pt% and 60.4% TS%
So you're applying different standards to them. We don't know that any of them will be anything, so I'm not sure why you're lauding one's potential as though it's guaranteed when it's just not. There's a reason you didn't hear a whisper that Garland and Allen were picked as the best two players on the team. Mobley is not anchoring a starting defense yet, and he can't hit the 3 at a good rate. Without those, don't even think about the word "generational". Although, I think he will be able to fully anchor a defense eventually. As far as potential, Green looks to me like he can be a floor-raising scorer while Mobley looks like a floor-raising two-way player. Mobley has shown more in 40 games out of the 1,000+ games each of them will play in their careers. That's where we are. 30ppg scorers are not everything for sure. If he's a 30ppg scorer who can't pass, rebound or play defense that's pointless. Frankly, Green is not looking like the kind of kid who is going to be selfish or not take seriously what the coaches tell him is important. I don't have a shred of evidence to say he won't work on his game in the NBA or that he's a selfish player. Green's competition started the season off better because of college. I have not heard of any of these rookies having a better work ethic and if their potentials are in the same general ball park, then give me the hardest worker 100 times out of 100 in a 15+ year career.
Green right now is a decent spot up shooter. Whether he has a good game or not depends on if his three point shot is falling. Hopefully next season he continues to work on his three but starts adding variety to his offense. Give Green increased strength and an offseason to work on some offensive moves and he will be 20 PPG next year. Maybe more if Wood gets shipped out.
And he needs to tighten up his handles, gets knocked off the ball or gets ball knocked away much too easily.
So the grown ass men Green played against is not a positive now? My head is spinning with how the excuses keep changing. Let's wait and see but stop with all the gaslighting. Or at least keep the arguments consistent.
He still needs to grow up and get more muscle. I actually like how he is being used cuz you wanna ease him into the NBA as much as possible. He's never gonna chase Mobley, Cade and Barnes for ROY anyway let him work on his shot, build his muscle and increase his bball awareness this year.
There's a logical explanation: we thought the G League experience was better than it was. So it looks like we're changing our opinion to you because we are changing our opinion when the data shows up. It's amazing this idea right, that data should change people minds. Why does this seem to you like people are scheming in a discussion with you?
Lmao -- You believe everything Greenie's advertising team puts together like a simp? Does every NBA player and young rookie, sophomore report to you with their workout....... How do you even measure hardest worker? This is again a preposterous assumption because you do not have the workout footages of other young players....... Breaking news - Other rookies work very hard on their game. You do not have to hear about it. The asinine part is you have no clue what the competition looks like until the season is on its way. Athleticism, quickness means a crock of shet when your fundamentals are pretty below average. (0 rebounds 0 blocks against the Clippers in 31 minutes)
And where did you sign your nice little contract to defend a simp's hot takes. I mean I already said I have nothing against someone praising Green's work but you do not have to do it at the cost of other rookies who help their teams. Period. This post just shows you are willing to be an ahole. Nothing new. And yours knows what your work looks like.
Again you're stretching. If all the players have PR teams and we don't know actually know anything about the PR teams beforehand, all the PR is equal. Instead of finding any evidence of other players work ethic, you decided to tear Green down. You have made yourself believe that Green has the only PR team that does this. Imagine the lengths one has to go to. The mentality is clear. Just the fact that you said athleticism and quickness don't matter lol these are two of the top reasons GM's draft players. Players with great fundamentals get waived daily too. Admit it, you just do not like him. It's seeping into all your analysis now. I can remember right now 3 posts where you applied a test to Green that you do not apply to others. It's odd. It's out of place. In case you're wondering how I measure hard work, it's based on the reports of his bosses, his colleagues and his subordinates. It's very simple, doesn't require stretching.
I have nothing against you personally, I do not know you and what your relationship is to basketball. Maybe you are a coach, a scout, a bball professional, why didn't you say so. Then of course I take half of my comments about you back. If you really want to know what the hardest worker looks like - Cristiano Ronaldo known as CR7......now 37 yrs old. He trains his entire career like his life is on the line, gun to his head. He is not the most talented. Harden is also a hard worker but he has slacked off recently.
What's your issue? I respect real work. I'm praising you dude. Green simps don't know what real work is. You need to show em.
(I'm not a bball professional in any way btw) If I want to know what the hardest worker looks like, I look in the mirror. That's why I know what I see when I look at Green. There are players who need to be in a disciplinary system to flourish such as being a student or an employee. Then there are people who didn't allow their self-discipline to erode and do not need any external disciplining. They just need fuel. That's Green. That's CR7. I can't think of a better example on this planet to illustrate Green's potential to be honest. CR7 was the most talented Portuguese youth player by FAR despite the fact that he comes from a non-central part of Portugal. He was blessed with speed, quickness, explosiveness, leaping ability. Like Jalen, he could get past his man and not know what to do next (sound familiar?). No defense, no passing, no leadership, not tough, bowed to pressure often at this point in his career. When he showed up to Man United, he had few skills and was called too skinny BY THE WAY. It was not till years 2 and 3 that he was allowed to do anything other than cross the ball mostly on one wing, make simple passes and provide defensive coverage for (must have been G Neville at that time). Still, at this point in his career, no one thought they are watching an all time great. Not a leader. Not an alpha. Gives the ball up too much. Only cares about showmanship. These are things that were said about CR7 at that time. Not a single Man U fan thought he would be the greatest Man U player in history, they did not treat him like Beckham. Guess what, it's the hard work that got CR7 where he is. Guess what he was a talented and unskilled player too. Guess what, he was surrounded by racists and buffoons and mediocre, overpaid, spoiled English players, he still became CR7. Guess what, every article about his hard work is done by a PR team and you don't question it. Because you think the outcome is what determines a hard worker. Hard work is not measured on the outcome of the work. Hard work is measured in WORK obviously. You have faith and trust in the process. That's not the DNA of a hard worker. A hard worker doesn't see it as a reward journey. They just see it as a part of their life which they have to harmonize with and trust. If CR7 was testing the results of his work every 10-20 games, he would never have time to work lol. This work we talk about, it's in years and decades. Not in 30 games. I get it though. I understand the pattern now. Jalen must have the work ethic of an all time soccer great in CR7 otherwise he has no chance, right? Like there was no Lionel Messi happening at the same time right? Come on dude. Take a moment to ask inward today, how come you are harsher on Jalen than others? I'm being sincere here.
