Don't we lose our pick in 2024 or something?

Rockets need to knock it out of the park in the next two drafts, and have a great FA in the 2023 offseason. Sengun means they know what they're doing, but simply swung and missed at Green (Not saying he's a bust, but likely not perennial All-NBA).

Keep swinging, maybe Chet or Wembley turn into studs.

    Yes, I believe it’s top 4 protected.

We either need to nail the draft or start cashing in assets or most likely a combination of the two

If you thought Suggs wasn't NBA ready, you would not have said that he might win ROY lmao. Or did you not realize that being NBA ready is a prerequisite for winning ROY given that it's a year 1 award?

I see you have now continuously moved the goal posts though.

Someone has to, and it was always going to be one of the top 5 picks.

Green was nowhere near NBA ready on either side of the ball, so I figured it wouldn't be him.

I didn't think Mobley would score enough to win over talking heads, I thought that part of his game would take some time, so I didn't think it would be him.

I underestimated Barnes, and didn't think it would be him.

That just leaves Cade and Suggs. I thought there was a chance that Suggs would do more as a passer and facilitator so it might put him over the rest. Not that he was "NBA ready" either.

Cool, you nailed it. Mobley was the clear pick above Green and you knew it from day one. You are king armchair GM of Clutchfans. Will you please STFU about it now?

    Maybe.

Just as soon as we stop hearing excuses for why Green is terrible right now and we stop having people blame everyone else for his short term failures.

Ideally they lose a crapload of games this season and next since they get to keep their draft picks. Provided they draft well, Green pans out, and they clear a bunch of cap space when Wall and Gordon come off the books, they can go into the 2023-24 season ready to compete for a lower seed in the playoffs.

If the planets align and everything goes perfectly, the Nets will experience a steep decline by then and the Rockets will have a bunch of valuable picks and swaps coming their way.

I am. I've watched every summer league game. Every pre-season game. And only missed one regular season game. Why do you ask?

Making Clutchfans a better place one day at a time. It must be mentally stimulating to communicate the same opinion and ideas over and over and over with different combinations of words.

    gauging pain tolerance .

does wanting to lose for the next 2 seasons mean you are rooting for us to lose every game ?

bro i went from watching every game ( like starting 2011 ) to not being able to make it through a quarter most of the time last year

If we are 3-30 whats the point in watching ?

I dont even know if you can take individual performances as something of merit towards the future. Our poor commentators were hyping him up so much last year ( he was like the only high ceiling prospect on the team ) and i know everyone was happy when he had a 50 piece ... queue all the posts here about youngest player etc ...

anyways .... im sure ill be happy if/when our draft picks have good games , but its not till they start stringing them together that you can take anything from it. After all , KPJ has not had a particularly hot start to the year.

    lol man , we need a W .

goin through a fan crisis man .... can i really call myself a rockets fan if i dont want to watch us lose. And if we are gonna lose 90 % of the time that essentially means watching the games. Bein a fan means hoping against hope your team does well. I have no illusions of championships this year , or the next , or the next. But could the powers that be throw us a friggin bone and maybe we can be in the 20-24 win range ??

look , for example .. i just looked this up . Last year we won a game .. game 10 of the season vs the spurs . Harden was gone , wall didnt play .. and tate , wood , maclemore, PJ , and nwaba ( along with others ) willed us to a win. Or maybe the spurs just played horrible . But looking at the box , the spurs still had some players . The difference was prolly just in the 3 point shot. ... the point being we WON. It didnt ruin our tank .

But if the porter and green backcourt and all of our turnovers and losses continue .... im just saying , its unacceptable . Our young guys dont NEED losses they NEED experience and time. Like if green was good enough to get us 1-2 more wins thus far ... would people be wanting to lose to try to get us higher draft position ?

Losing cant be the goal , it can be a byproduct ... but it just feels like with the decision we made with wall and green early in the year , we did so ensuring we would lose. Even if you didnt play wall , you could have started the vet in gordon. We may not have won because of it , but it likely would have raised the probability of that a bit. What would have been the harm in having green come off the bench the first 10 games ? Would it have slowed his development ?

The rockets FO and coaching staff are setting the tone. Winning doesnt matter , we have time. I dont like it.

No. I still root for them to win every single game. I just don't expect it and I accept when they lose. Some games I have even felt very content with the effort (the LA and Denver games were so close). But yeah, I'm mostly just watching the kids develop. That's all that really matters right now. The hard part is watching guys like Danuel House get PT when a.) he sucks and b.) he's not part of our future.

I like that you rarely go a day without whining about something I've said.

    Keep it up killer.

That's not sarcasm. I really enjoy (I've seen several others mention it as well) that you are really REALLY hammering home your opinion on Green. It makes the board where fans of the Rockets come to read and discuss the team extremely enjoyable. Keep it up, please.

We’ve been spoiled and it’s hard to get out of that mindset.

It’s literally 12 games into our first true rebuild since we drafted Yao….. You may want to take a break from the Rockets for a bit.

I’m not with Bobby on Green’s potential but agree with him on what Green is doing right now. At this moment he’s probably the worst player in the league getting regular minutes depending on how you feel about Suggs.

I really don’t understand him playing 30 minutes a game while Sengun plays 20, Christopher doesn’t play much, and Garuba doesn’t play at all.

    It’s strange.

I guess that’s a long way of saying “Are we intentionally losing? I have no idea.”

No we just suck. This is not even a question. There a few things stone/tilman could of done better. Cleveland built a team based on what could of been rockets. This team is looking horrible. You going sit back and watch this? I got better things to do, than root for bunch of scrubs.

Houston could of had a lineup of

J.Allen - Mobley -Prince- Lavert- Dwinddle

With picks for the future. Pretty much stupid moves by idiot owner.
