I personally disagree. In today's NBA, a big HAS to be able to shoot to be elite. The reason that Jokic and Embiid are so unstoppable on offense is because you know you can't just bottom them up inside given that they can easily hit that open shot from range.
Bam Adebayo is elite. Everyone here thinks Mobley is elite and he can't shoot for ****. Hell he plays next to another big who can't shoot in Jarrett Allen, who is an all star. Shooting is a great skill to have but not necessary. It's just something you have to course correct with the surrounding pieces. Team building is really hard and no player is without weakness except Jalen Green who does it all.
Exactly. I’m not passing On a potential franchise guy for anyone. I’m taking him and figuring it out later.
lol clearly the bigger picture is that he's not getting enough minutes moron, but it's easy to say it's worthless when you're not the one out there working and trying to prove yourself.
Im not saying disregard 3pt shooting entirely but to open up the high post to him. Jokic and Embiid both do significant damage from the high post. I think it’s more important for him to be there than at the three point line right now. Sengun has a solid stroke. The 3pt will come with time like it did with Embiid.
Chet is more than a shot blocker like Gobert. He’s a lockdown guy no matter what position he is playing
Not a single one of those big men you mentioned are elite. The only elite big men in the league are Giannis, Jokic, Embiid, and Davis. Then you have KAT trailing them who also shoots a lot from downtown. Giannis is a very meh shooter, but even he tosses up almost 4 long bombs per game. Mobley does have a soft midrange, which is far better than being only a post player or roll man though and that usually translates to an acceptable 3pt option.
He has been getting over 20 minutes of PT regularly behind Wood, his minutes are fine you moron. This is a team full of people we are trying to develop, so again... who gives a **** about some meaningless individual award?
He's average to above average on the perimeter. His length allows him to make up for his slow feet. He's not Evan Mobley on the edges. He's elite at guarding the rim. I watch every Gonzaga, Auburn and Duke game so if you're watching and have a different conclusion we disagree. If you're just watching highlights or reading on him, you should see him guard the perimeter. It's fine, nothing to write home about. He's elite on IQ, Shooting and guarding the rim. He is a great teammate and a tireless worker. I'd be thrilled with Chet at the first pick but the fit with Sengun isn't definite. It could or could not work even if both hit their full potential. Jabari will fit anywhere. AD can't play and even if he could he's worse than Adebayo at this point. He also can't shoot. Adebayo is elite under my definition.
Methinks you are on an island with this take. There is not a single executive in the NBA who would take Bam over AD If they had the choice between the two.
this is what we telling you alpi is already at yanis level 3pt shooting wise ie you dont have to be elite at it even westbrook can shoot 3pt at yanis level good player dont even need 3pt shot...remmeber when cp3 beat lebron in playoffs playing only with ONE FREAKING HAND... not even shooting 3s at all... TAKE THAT FOR DATA
AD is shooting 3s 16% on the season TAKE THAT FOR DATA alpi is already a better 3 pt shooter than him
its like setting up steph cury for postup opportunities...its beyond dumb... A SILAS SPECIAL there is a proverb for this kind of dumb, a frog saw the horses are being shoed so it raised its leg too....
Most impressive was his defense. Isn’t it refreshing seeing a 5 match up on other 5s? Watching him guard Ayton is even more damning for Wood. Usually we have Tate getting roasted by the center and our dribble contain is lacking. Watching sengun take the big, free Tate to guard booker, play drop damn well, contest everything, deflect the point god passes, and rotate on time was so refreshing. Our defense was so much better with a guy who understands defensive schemes and battles
At first glance and looking at the names alone, sure, that might be the right sentiment. But one of the best abilities is availability. Outside of the injuries he's had this year Bam has been pretty durable whereas AD keeps missing games. I think it really depends on what your team needs: are you picking between the two to build a team around or are you picking between the two with a very good team in place? I think Adebayo would be considered moreso for the former while AD would certainly get the nod for the latter. AD's shooting--especially from the outside--has taken a nosedive over the past 3 seasons.
Sengun's 3 pt is much better than his shooting percentage indicates. He has taken a lot of desperation 3s because of teammates dumping the ball to him at last second, and he does not refrain from taking half court 3s at the end of quarters. He also did not shoot 3s regularly at the beginning of the season. At some point he was hesitating to take them. His form is okay so I think he will easily be a 33-35% 3 pt without any serious 'developing'. He just needs to play and take them with confidence when he wants to.
