She can wear it if she wants. Just don't force other children to wear it.

Again, the quiet part out loud. All the "Democrats torturing kids" and "Democrats abusing kids" is really just this... politics. The same politics that argued that COVID-19 was not anything at the start. Then tried to argue it was no worse than a cold. Then argued it was going to "magically disappear in weeks." Then argued against vaccines, masks, social distancing closures, mandates. Then offered up alternative cures, like bright lights inserted in the body, and bleach and other cleansers, and even horse pills. All the while defending and excusing their slow and disjointed response to a global pandemic that will soon reult in one million American deaths.

It was politics then. And its politics now. And using kids as their prop.

By saying "it's just politics" you are just proving the point - being dismissive of the interest of kids to not be forced to wear masks all day. Typical.

Actually, your last posts have proven that it is only politics to you. I actually knew it before... you claimed to be concerned about under 4 and under kids having to wear masks because they are too hard to keep masks, then when people mentioned they could see that point, you immediately pivoted to all kids, and once that happens you will pivot to all masking wearing.

Kids, especially young kids were simply the prop to argue the politics of masking. They were never really your concern...

    So do you want

    - kids under 4
    - all kids
    - all people

    to wear masks forever?

My position is clear: I am in favour of scrapping any mask mandate, now. But in the above order of priority, from top to bottom.

You are very evasive when it comes to what you actually want. When, and under which circumstances, are you willing to give up mask mandates for each of these three groups above? What conditions do you think need to be fulfilled, if they aren't already?

    Be specific.

You keep putting out the lie "wear masks forever".

I have always been in favor of masking, vaccinations, social distancing and even closures for as long as needed, as defined by the medical and science experts that advise our government. They set reasonable standards based on number of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths. Its government's primary role to protect the health of its citizens. That means all citizens... young, old, healthy, unhealthy.

In the case of schools... that means students, teachers, staff. If the numbers prove out that cases and hospitalizations fall under an acceptable level, then restrictions should be removed. Are we there yet? I don't believe so, but soon. I'd anticipate by next fall school year we won't need to mask. But that decision should be based on the numbers. Not by politics. If the numbers support sooner, great. Again, I will listen to the experts that advise our government.

My company is opening up offices next month. Distancing practices will be expected and masking wearing will be required when moving outside your office and while in public spaces. I expect that will be changed when the numbers support such changes. Again, reasonable restrictions designed to protect people in my company (employees and visitors).

    What about other peoples' freedom?

It's certainly not child abuse, which is why you lost the argument from the get go.

@AroundTheWorld how are you and, more importantly, the kids doing? Pretty much recovered now? Any lingering effects on the little ones?

Thank you for asking, @fadeaway. The kids were over it after 1-2 days, and they are full of energy lol. While I am typing this, they have transformed the entire house into a huge mess and are running around and smashing everything. My wife and I got it a couple days after them (from them), so we are still feeling a bit miserable. My wife is already getting better, I have the symptoms of a mild to moderate flu. Bit of an annoying cough. Nothing serious, I hope it stays that way. A doctor who is a friend prescribed me some inhalers to prevent asthma as a lingering effect of this cough. Getting that tomorrow morning.

So you are basically saying you are in favour of whatever the government says.

Well, then it is only a matter of time (won't take long) until you will be in agreement with me.

Glad to hear the kids are fine. Hope you and the wife both make full recoveries soon.

It was announced recently that my province has plans to scale back Covid restrictions, with full removal by Mar.14th (just in time for St. Patrick's Day, LOL). Reactions are mixed, and I'm not sure what to think, honestly, but will trust the guidance of the medical leadership.
