What's even more crazy is how limited he has been in minutes and still great when given the chance..... If he continues to get better and there is no reason to think he won't he is an all star in this league... Its actually pretty scary if all his skills come together and start clicking at once...
Sengun 3 pt shooting is prob not sustainable. But his passes and his post game is stellar. Plus he plays with effort
I just cannot imagine the other players enjoying playing with Wood. I would think that if you do an anonymous poll, 10 of 10 players would prefer giving all the minutes to Sengun.
A big man that forces teammates shorter than him to guard/box out/rebound other big men. A big man that sets half ass screen. A big man that demands the ball to shoot 3s. Wood is a solid offensive player, but his mentality isn't team friendly.
Imagine his stat line and the games he would have had if he got 30+ minutes a game from the start.... Might be top 3 for ROY....
silas influencing your opinion a lot i see it..... if alpi got his start from the start and 35 minutes a night hes the unanimous roy and rockets fighting for homecourt seed... dont we lack talent at me psychology is 80% of any skill/game and silas is terrible at it...a loser son of the biggest loser ever
He did sometimes, but it surely didn't help that he only got inconsistent spot minutes and got yanked the first time something went wrong, while Wood could just play selfish ball and would get all the minutes and shots he wanted by Silas. If Silas has any balls at all, he is not playing Wood, except for spot minutes, the rest of the season. By far the biggest failure of the Rockets front office was not trading Wood at the deadline. It's inexplicable. Even if they had only gotten a few second rounders - addition by subtraction.
Kid is special, and if it really took you this long to figure it out you don't know ****. This team should be embarrassed for not giving him a proper chance to compete for ROTY.
Things I would like him to improve. 1) outside shooting. There are times where teams are daring him to shoot 2) being more aggressive in decision making and deciding to attack or create a pass. He seems almost hesitant to go at times Things that will help him improve 1) constant role and playing time 2) offensive sets designed with him being the point center
1) He converted 3/4 3 pt.ers vs the Suns and has an up and coming midrange shot these last couple of games. 2) He waits for his teammates to see the opportunities before making a scoring play himself.
I’m happy he balled but I hate these cherry picked historical marks. “3rd player ever under this certain and age days to have at least x points on x shots with 2 assists and 0 turnovers by quarter 3 etc blah blah”
spending a month in g league taking 20 shots a game would unlock all of these cant imbibe a shooter mentality certainty and decisiveness by taking 4 shots a game... taking shots in an empty gym just isnt the same, the body chemistry is different...
its a shame shroeder has just arrived and he were given keys to the franchise... alpi is a better player and better playmaker than denis
