Christopher and Gordon were both pretty bad. Christopher was particularly awful. Overall though, a very good game. There was a lot to like tonight.
Schroeder looked pretty good with 9 assists, though he did have 6 turnovers, those will come down as he gets comfortable. I hope KPJ watched how effective we are when we push pace. DD
I wouldn't say Christopher was awful, he didn't shoot well and 8 shots in 11 minutes is way too much for him. However, he also played fairly well defensively and took down 7 boards in those limited play time. I do think he needed more minutes, and I won't be surprised if his severe role reduction since Schroder onboarded might be affecting him.
Because the Rockets just drafted 4 first rounders (which is rare) and, as it stands, will likely add 2 more this summer. Roster space is finite, especially if you believe in the guys you've selected and want to give them a fair shot at development. So ideally a team in the Rockets' position would want any additional 1sts to be further spaced out, not only for team building purposes, but also because, as trade currency, distant 1st round picks hold more value than middling/late immediate ones.
You package those picks and/or players to move up and get the best player(s) possible. Resting on your laurels and standing pat after ONE draft while still clearly rebuilding is not smart strategy at all.
I saw that too. His defense would make a difference. He has played team ball in the past. Maybe getting minutes cut last his mindset a little shaken.
Dennis missed those lobs, but I was just excited he kept throwing them and recognized they were there. Green, JC, and KJ should have one lob a game at least.
Yeah, literally half of his turnovers were on off target (but well intentioned) lobs to Green and Martin. He clearly had the right idea.
You mean someone that directs the flow of the offense, is patient, finds opportunities for his teammates and doesn't immediately post on IG after the game saying "**** tha haterz scoot scoot!"?
You may want to reread my response. It's not about ONE draft. It's about having a team building plan designed with foresight and executed with patience and diligence. Smart franchises don't react rash or recklessly, despite the myopic whinging of an impatient fanbase.
Nah - Christopher kinda sucked tonight too, couldn't buy a bucket (1-8) and did little else. For some reason Christopher and Green are like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Only one can be good at a time.
