I'm sorry but looting a target isn't the same as trying to stop our democracy from working and stopping the certification of the fair election.

I'm a Native life long Texan who left last year never to return. Maybe I should make a video of the reasons why Gov Abbott, Dan Patrick and the GOP goons that run the state I formerly loved caused me and my family of 4 to leave never to return... or do I (and many others like me) not qualify since I don't conform to your narrative, run a pillow company, or have a youtube channel?

First off "the Union" would not be okay with California leaving the Union.

California is one of the biggest economies in the world.

Second, this guy blames California Democrats for destroying California, but he claims that in 2019 that California had "the best economy I have ever seen"..... guess who was ruling the state in 2019? Democrats.

A lot of the homelessness in California is based on geography, climate and a government that doesn't force the homeless to leave... most of those homeless in California are from elsewhere.

California will be fine.

Crime in California is down 72% from 2000.

The increase in crime post COVID in California is nearly identical as in the rest of the nation.

There are problems in California and I tend to not think having a single party control is a mistake, I have seen problems in Texas with the Republicans and Democrats in places like Detroit and Chicago. The problems in California are a beacon for what will hit the rest of the nation eventually...... but oddly enough the problems in California are NOT the ones like this guy sites.

Having gender neutral bathrooms or toys are not the problem.

It sounds like a cool thing to say that Democrats have destroyed California, but it really doesn't withstand scrutiny or a deeper look at the numbers.

I am sorry that this guys wife lost her salon........ people all over the country lost businesses so that millions of people would not die.

 

Nancy Pelosi is the equivalent to a mafiosa.

She deserved and deserves to be criticized and ideally voted out of office. The same thing should happen with the Governor of California who showed poor leadership by not walking the walk after talking the talk.

Having said that California will be fine and isn't in as bad a shape as the popular tropes are at this point. For sometime a lot of people could not afford to live in California, and with more job mobility people are moving into areas they can afford more easily like Texas and Florida and Tennessee.

There are serious issues in California like income inequality, public school inequality. A lack of affordable housing and public transit....... but those are largely a bi-product of laws passed a long time ago (housing), incredible demand to live in California from those inside and outside of the USA and the number of people that are buying multiple homes as investment properties. The resources in the state are stretched and people are living in areas that were not meant to be inhabited by a large number of people.

 

So he left a state because a politician was a hypocrite? Good luck finding a state - or country - to live in that will meet his standards.

Are we going to have a thread for each of the tens of millions of people that move every year?

 

That was in 2020? And he moved this year? Doesn't sound like it was his reason.
