Is that true? As a german I usually had no idea about the draft. But I knew, who Kobe was. Because of Basketball magazines that called him the next Michael Jordan. I was shocked when he was „only“ drafted at 9 I think and I though it figures, that the Lakers got him - and thought he pulled an Eli or something. So were my basketball magazines just prophetic or was he considered to be one of the best talents to come into the league for a long time?

Made up reasons, so every single advanced metric known to man has Green as one of the worst players in the entire league, but nah that’s a made up reason. It’s true that improvement is more important than initial level of play for rookies, but when you are SO bad, it’s just a much bigger hole to climb out of, Green has such a long way to go from becoming an impactful player that his improvement has to be far greater than other rookies. Meanwhile, despite the narrative they want to push (so hard working, mamba mentality!) he has shown little improvement from highschool, he was a 28% 3p shooter then, he is 30% now, what has all that supposed hard work led to? Does his body look like he’s lifted at all or put any hard work into it?

Also the problem is some things there’s nothing he can do about, he can’t make himself grow taller, his frame is not conducive to putting on a ton of weight, at his age he’s not developing into an elite passer etc.

You have to keep in mind the era. This was near the end of MJ's career. So any prospect that even remotely had a similar looking game to MJ was labeled the "next MJ".

He also came straight from high school which added to his hype.

Jalen Green is the best basketball player of all time.

It's so weird that people want off brand Chris Bosh so badly.

We've got Michael Jordan with hair.

    Jimi Hendrix with a jumper.

    1. I never said anything about predictions. Read the lines inbetween.

    2. You act like the Rockets are the only team developing elite talents.....Newsflash.... the rest of the NBA is doing the same and likely much smarter at executing it.

    3. The Rockets need a legit Superstar to win a championship not some wuss arse boy band All Star wannabe.

But yes, I might agree with the assumption that Chet, Jabari or Paolo are about to be better than Green.

    That I can live with.

Lol. So triggered, go follow the Cavs or something.

Green has a decent game against the Jazz on 9 FGA and had one of the best +/- in a blow out game. I’m sorry if that upsets you.

You anti greenies need a hobby or a new team.

If you look at both the Mobley thread and this thread, you'll see that 90% of Green haters are Mobley lovers. The whole thing is about who's right before the draft.

Green has put on considerable muscle already since his first game, I can understand why his progress on shooting has been slow.

Green was supposed to be more "NBA ready" than other prospects because he was a pro player in the G League at 18. He and Kobe both spent their age-18 season playing pro ball instead of going to college. And one year makes a big difference at that age. I don't think Kobe's 18 season, coming straight from high school, is a fair comparison to Green's age-19 season, coming from a year of pro experience and training.

    It's really not though.

If Green wasn't so terrible, there wouldn't be anything to say.

It's just Rockets fans concerned that the player the team drafted at #2 is performing like one of the worst rookies in the class despite being massively pushed.

That upsets Jalen Green cultists because people aren't rational when it comes to religion.

I'm hoping at some point he improves and becomes a net positive player, there will be fewer complaints then by Rockets fans and the cultists can possibly choose to worship in peace without feeling the need to jihad against the apostates and the infidels all over the board.

Why are there bozos hating Green in this thread?

Why are the Green haters all the same guys who pick a stance every time and beat it into the ground?

no one wants your negativity. you're talking to a wall or someone who peaks through the wall and decides to fall for your bullshit just for a second.

In regards to Evan Mobley, objectively speaking, he has all-time great potential because theoretically, he will be able to do literally any and EVERYTHING a team needs on both sides of the ball. Right now though, he is no better than Marvin Bagley III offensively. Defensively he is already an impact player so of course, he's better than Bagley so don't twist my words. He is a good player that has a ton of room for improvement just like the rest of these guys and a ways to go before he can truly be called a great player.

Going to College does not automatically make you a better bball player but it sure helps you with maturity.

"Just Rocket fans are concern about green being the worst player drafted in his class." So your solution is to proceed to btch about him every game?

Even when he does alright u folks btch. Rookies takes time to get better.

I hope you are getting paid for these posts. You have LITERALLY said the same thing with several of the same key words over 100 times now.
