Why make up **** against your own favorite team's player? Like this shows you have an agenda. No, Green didn't play the 4th last night so he played 27 minutes and had the highest +/- on the team outside of EG last night. I know you guys are big into +/- to **** on Green. So he was the least of the team's problems yesterday.
He was one of the best players on the team last night. No one can look "great" in this offense. It's terribly constructed. We have two black holes in the lineup in Wood and Tate. Wood consistently makes the worst decisions, and when Tate gets the ball you know he's going to try to score. KPJ is not a real PG but they are trying to make him one so he clearly looks awkward in that role. Then you have Gordon who knows how to play but is a finisher as well. The only way Green would be great on this team would be if he was an elite isolation 1-on-1 scorer. He isn't, he needs to be part of a functional offense to get good looks etc. Look at Sengun, he has played poorly for an extended period of time, how come the Green haters aren't in the Sengun thread calling him a bust?
Wood had the best +/-. And I didn’t say Green was the problem, everyone sucked, it’s just pathetic that dudes are making gifs about me as if 13 points in a 34 point loss is supposed to mean something when other rookies who are actually good are dropping monster lines.
Great job just ignoring my points. And someone just mentioned that he's had a decent few games including last night and you feel the need to **** on it. Like why? What is your issue? Is the need to be proven right about a NBA draft selection that high on your priority list in life?
Why are we not talking about Sengun being a bust? Because we already saw how he looked for a long stretch earlier in the season when he looked like one of the best rookies in the entire draft, we saw how he looked when the offense was ran through him and the whole team looked more fluid. After coming back from injury he hasn’t looked as good, and he’s being misused on both offense and defense, but at least there’s hope because we saw how good he could be. Jalen has had a couple of good games when his 3s went in when on the whole he has been awful at shooting 3s, so it was luck. Besides that there has been nothing to even be hopeful for.
You guys love projecting your little snowflake insecurities on to me. I could give two shts about “being right”. I’m unhappy that the entire top half of the draft has been looking stellar and this poor excuse of a franchise ended up with the lone ugly duckling. Are you happy with the direction the organization is going? I’m sorry that some of us see through the rainbow unicorn bullsht and call it out from time to time. That doesn’t make us any less of a fan than you, it just makes us less delusional.
You literally ran to this thread last night in the middle of a Rockets game to.... ...tell us all about.... ....Josh Giddey.
I’m not sure if you are aware or paid attention during the draft but, Jalen was actually picked ahead of Giddey. I know, hard to believe, but it’s really true! Anyways, if it helps, that’s the relevance here.
You are liar and a hypocrite. You made up and took a shyte on Rockets best player many times in the past.
LOL C'mon man, enough with the Green as PG nonsense. But on second thought, what better way to cement the tank and really nail down that top 3 pick. So sure, why not.
Green needs to b more involved on Offense or have plays set for him. He looks like an entirely different player playing alongside Sengun on the second unit. Playing with wood and KPJ he turns into a spot up shooter parked at the corner. Green might look lacking, but Silas isn't making his rookie life any easier. Man doesn't need to b pg, but he has showed some aptitude to setting his teammates up with passes.
These are actually terrific numbers for a young Shooting Guard. It's almost like Mobley fell and sat on some of these posters heads and left them in a state of amnesia with no knowledge of young guard play throughout the history of the league. SGs usually score 4-5 more points than the number of FGs they shoot. For example Ray Allen's rookie year: 13 points on 11 FGs by his second year he was shooting 16fgs for 19 points until he finally made the leap when he was 25. For me, it's about Green working on his Euro and finishing. Everything else will come with more experience.
You can say that, or you can say that Sengun has regressed while Green has gotten noticeably better when it comes to defense or attacking the rim.
This is all I’ve been saying all along. Giddey shot 37% in the month of November and 38% the month of December. Cade Cunningham has been up and down all year. Jalen Suggs the same. Orlando, OKC, and Detroit made a commitment to live through the mistakes and let them learn on the fly with way more autonomy than Jalen Green has ever gotten when he starts most possessions standing in the corner.
The ONLY reason I’ve refrained from running to the Sengun threads and talking about how disappointing he has been looking is because I genuinely want him to be successful and I’m hoping for the best. I’m hoping he turns it back around. He has not been looking like the player we need to be building around. He’s only 19 though and I hate what Silas has done with him this year. Something needs to change though. I have certainly been discouraged by a few things in regards to him both offensively and defensively because if he doesn’t get the ball in certain places on the floor on offense he is useless. He changes the way the entire offense flows when he comes in the game and hasn’t shown that he can adapt when he isn’t the focal point. He has to have the ball in his hands and things have to flow through him because he can’t shoot, but he’s become predictable and turnover prone. Defensively he’s not switchable and can’t guard away from the basket. If he’s the big man you build around you have to basically mold everything to fit what he needs to have to be successful and cover up his warts. Is he going to be good enough to warrant that kind of shift where he completely dictates system and roster construction? He needs the system to cater to his abilities both offensively AND defensively. Then you need certain kinds of players around him especially in the front court for it to work. You can’t just pair him with any front court player and expect things to work and that is an indictment on him. As good as he looks at certain things, his weakness are just as glaring.
