So the sports media definitely cares about them. But yes, the regular local news and the regular New York completely doesn't care. Those that have been in NYC for some time just don't consider the Nets to be a real NYC team -- kind of like the Islanders. Most of those who adopted the Nets were those new to the NYC and/or didn't really have a team, or just totally fed up with the Knicks. But all those "fed up with the Knicks people" would totally switch back if the Knicks ever turned it around. It's bit like what the reports have been of the Rams/Chargers in LA.

Simmons seems like a pretty good fit in BKN. They don't need him to be a primary scorer, which is really his only weakness.
I think he got a break from pressure coming from Philly. A notoriously critical and difficult arena for the home team.

Usually I like to see how players look after a big trade. Harden not playing. Simmons not playing. So anticlimactic.
