If only we were actually having the balls to fully rebuild. That's the problem.... this bizarre change in direction at this point.
You don't know that, we have 3 young guys that may make that team a contender as it develops. Just get talent. DD
I don't think there's been much of a change of direction, more of a pit stop in swapping out Theis's long term contract with an expiring in Schroeder and keeping EG. We are still on pace to be a bottom 4 team since we can't play any defense or string together 2 quarters of good offense.
Well I do know that about the cap space. And I don't want the Rockets to become this new look Spurs. We own our picks for the next two seasons before giving them up to OKC (most likely) so rebuild instead of retool. Retool after you get these high draft picks. Don't fight it. Jarret Allen is a moot point since Tilly was never going to pay him in RFA.
paying useless guys like Theis and Nwaba and JA only making $20 mil per while being only 23 is hilarious. It's just classic stupidity from the fo/owner
I still don’t think he is worth the max. Wish we got more for him but would rather not have that $$ tied into him.
Yeah I guess we won't really see what all the weird deadline moves were about until we see what he does in regards to offering contracts in the Summer or if he starts giving extension offers in the next few weeks. Namely Christian Wood. I swear to God if he offers him an extension I'm pulling what hair I have left out.
He would have been the best trade asset we got for Harden. Nope, I wanted him for the trade asset. He would have gotten more than Oladipo.
The max for him. If it isn't 20M it's near it. Yes, it's a good thing they aren't paying a guy 20M per who isn't worth that amount. I'm not sure how adding up what multiple overpaid guys make has to do with not paying overpaying one player.
All that matter is it isn't max and he's already outplayed that value. and its obvious you don't know how much starting centers in the nba get paid. And guys like Al horford are getting 27$ mil It has plenty to do with it. Because a dumb fo/owner would rather fork out useless money on scrubs, rather than actually use money for young prospects like JA who has produced at every opportunity hes gotten. And low and behold becomes a all star at 23
Yes you’re right. It’s about finances. There’s so many missing parts to this team so would it be wise to dump 20 mil to a defensive big right now while you still have multiple players contracts to deal with in 2-3 years including rookie extensions and so many other major positions to fill?
the cavs must be doing it wrong then. they gave $20 mil to a defensive big. why. It's not like they have mobley garland sexton etc to deal with oh wait....
I thought the whole point of not getting OK talent back was to maximize our odds at landing a top 3 pick, avoiding sending it to OKC.
It has to be that. We achieved it last year. This team is a fringe play-in team with Allen and another big playing defense. We can score. Hopefully we can get some more lottery ball luck this year.
