Sorry to hear. It sounds like you all should be at low risk for it to develop into something serious. Wishing you well.

Your nanny should have been wearing a mask. (100% of the time and wearing it correctly) (and you should have validated she was current on her vaccinations)

Since you are vaccinated and your children are, well, children, the odds of you guys getting seriously ill is very low (I wish you well). However, the odds that you spread it to somebody else was very high before the onset of symptoms, esp. if you took your kids to a public place, and they were not masked. If in that public place, the odds of encountering at least one compromised person was very high ...and that person likely got seriously ill ...because of you.

I'm sure you all recover just fine (and wish you well).

It's very unlikely that anyone gets seriously ill from Omicron. It was totally obvious that someone was going to make that post, but I am not impressed. Also, from the moment we heard that the nanny had a positive test, we haven't been to any public places and we told the other nanny not to come anymore. So, nice try, but...

And no, we were not going to force the nanny and the children to have a mask around each other. Probably, this will help the children build natural immunity - not immunity from contracting it again, but from having very severe cases of it in the future. So, that's great.

Actually, the thing that bothers me most right now are itchy eyes...from hayfever. Why the hell is that already starting again in February. I hope that will be better in Florida.

Get well soon. You’ll get used to a lot of stuff here in Florida. Warm tropical climate takes a little bit of time for the body to adjust to, especially coming from Germany where you have been living in all those years.

I lived in H-town and other parts of Texas for more than 10 years. I like the heat too but Texas heat is tough. I like the Tampa Bay Area much better. Just bought me another home in Apollo Beach, 2 minutes to the beach. I can’t wait to move in by the end of the month. I like the weather in my area, it could get hot from June to September but the ocean breeze made up for it unlike Texas.

So good for them. They seem to be governing based on listening to the science and medical professionals.

Hogan seems like a reasonable Republican. Supports Kinzinger and Cheney as well.

As you surely know, there are differing opinions from science and medical professionals. So you can choose whom you want to listen to, and claim to have listened to "the science".

Generally during COVID there has been an overwhelming number of scientists and health care professionals who have agreed on various things throughout. I've listened to them.

Very sorry to hear that but good that it sounds like your family has a pretty mild case and hope y'all recover quickly with no long term effects.
