I don't believe ALL attacks on Asians are because of Donald Trump. Unfortunately there's been a history of tension between black Americans and newer arrived Asian immigrants as they moved into traditionally black neighborhoods. A lot of these attacks too are being made by people mentally ill who shouldn't be out on the streets.

That said the ramp up in attacks matching anti-Chinese rhetoric by a lot of people does have a lot to do with it. It certainly added to an attitude that Chinese were different and scapegoated for a lot of things. Given that many can't tell the difference between Chinese and other Asians that led to attacks on Asians no matter what their ethnic origin was.

You were trying to say that diverse cities don't have the worst crime, ignoring the fact that the most diverse city is the one you specifically listed as having the worst crime. That is the context. Being from Stockton, I have some base of knowledge about the city.
