I always take my wife to Buc-ee's when we visit Houston. She loves it. She says its like Cracker Barrel and Walmart had a baby. Last time I went I got a fried chicken sammich that was legit as hell. Beaver nuggs for the wife and a bucee toy for the kiddo. Always a great time.
Buc-ee's is always a bathroom break for me. It's nice to be able to walk into a bathroom without wearing a hazmat suit in between big cities. Only thing I may buy from there is the bottled drinks or something. Most of the stuff in there is useless to me or just stuff I could get at any convenient store. Although I did buy some bbq sauce/rubs there once. Oh yeah, and a t-shirt and mug for a friend.
This guy does a really solid review. I'm going to try a few things there next time solely based on this.
The guy I posted has millions of followers, and he doesn't mince words when it comes to food. He was not impressed with B&B Butchers when he was in Houston. (and he has a lot of great restaurant reviews, especially in Chinatown here) And yes, that video below has him reviewing several things here.
So? He’s from NY. Doesn’t mean he knows **** about H-Town cuisine. Ever been to a Mexican food restaurant in the Midwest? I bet millions of people there think it’s amazing but they give you tomato paste and a bottle or ranch with your tortilla chips. It doesn’t mean it’s any good. I’m saying, as a Houstonian, that Buccees doesn’t impress me and reminds me of bland tourist food.
I've been following food reviews long enough to know who is on point and who is full of ****. I've been impressed with this guy. He's apparantly opening a place in the Heights. And he does mention that Pho in NY is crap. And, Buccee's nuggets are unimpressive. But that roast beef sandwich looks good. Did you watch the video, though? I love a guy that's impressed with Houston.
So at Buc-ees you can get gas outside and inside as well drop off excess gas you no longer need -- first world problems require first world solutions.
A quality chopped beef sandwich and large dr.pepper for 7 bucks is stupidly good. Only time I ever go is when I'm visiting family in Hempstead, but I always stop there and get the same thing.
Their kolaches are trash. The tacos are ok but overpriced. Their grab and go is legit if you’re on the road for work. I also enjoy their jerky.
Yall want some damn beaver nuggets? Go to your grocery store and get the original. Theyre called Pops cereal.
