[Official] Evan Mobley as a Cleveland Cavaliers thread

Not taking Mobley was a huge mistake, you tank all year get lucky to keep the pick and then you don't take the best player available.......let's just hope that Green and Mobley develop and it is not a Sam Bowie/MJ situation.

Mobley is far and away the better player right now, and has better NBA skills.

As I am not a Cavs fan, will not cheer for him, but he just looks special.

It might be early to call it a mistake, but it looks like one with about 1/2 a season.

I'll definitely admit I was wrong on Mobley, even though I wasn't a vocal part of the draft debate. He just seemed so reserved in interviews that I doubted his hunger and motor. (There are many reasons I don't evaluate NBA draft talent for a living, LOL.)

But he will really take it to anyone on the court and has a huge versatile range of skills for today's NBA.

 

Never realized how long Mobley was and how good he is at using his length on defense. He definitely needs to get a bit stronger, but he's already a all star level defender.

On offense yesterday, all he had to do was place himself at the rim and raise his hands and we couldn't do anything about it. I didn't think Mobley would be this ready pre-draft.

 

I don't think it was a huge mistake. I am still fine with taking Green. And I was very high on Mobley in college. As a Pac12 fan, I thought some opinions of Mobley going into the draft were nuts. Anyone that watched him with any regularity knew he was an incredibly skilled player that could switch all over the floor on defense. I just don't trust building a team around a big man in 2022. Other than Jokic and Embiid, who are pretty revolutionary players, a center isn't gonna work out as a focal point of a team. I can see Mobley being a great #2, but I still want a perimeter player to be #1. Green offered that and still may. He hasn't been great this season, but I haven't given up on him. I'd like to see what he can do with better personnel and coaching.

Mobley has hit the rookie wall. He’s had basically scrub performances the last week.

4 out of 6 games in single digit scoring and rebs.

 

It's a completely different game when you can't post up against air.
8pts, 2 rebounds.
Had he played against Wood those 8 points become 50 pts/13 rebounds

 

Or they need 1 season or 2 to adjust to the amount of games as a professional in the best league.

I hate to see this. The maturity of Mobley and his adaptation to the NBA is really amazing compared to Jalen's.

I still have faith in Jalen, but I'm losing more and more faith in what the hell Silas is running out there (unless he's been given an initiative from FernTits to tank this season).

He is incredible.....yet it got into a tug war between Green fans and Mobley fans.

 

Rockets could of very easily had their own Tower City but for the ineptitude of Ra-fel Stone.
