What's weird is when conservatives give out syringes to heroin addicts to white areas, people hail it as compassionate conservatism - where's the Babylon bee on that?

Biden does essentially the same thing for crack addicts, and it causes mass hysteria amongst our right wing friends.

If there were an actual crack pipe give away, it might be mildly amusing. But there isn't. To make jokes about non-existent things isn't really funny. If a comedian did a stand up set on a fake moon landing based in the idea that common sense dictates no humans walked on the moon, it wouldn't be funny. Or it might be funny but not at the expense of those who are aware we actually walked on the moon.

These types of meme's humor and jokes are increasingly becoming the foundation of an entire political faction in a 2 party country.

Interesting. I don't think the people behind these smear campaigns are stupid people, it's actually a pretty ingenious political strategy to behold.

 

It's also pretty sad and depressing, Fox News was going all in on the crack pipe situation and I don't think they believe in retractions...

 

Where talking about strategy and memes, meanwhile how about the actual program? I don't care if it does include crackpipes or not, are safe smoking kits successful in reducing harm? Is it cost-effective in comparison to other interventions (or lack of) and the eventual outcomes? What are potential negatives, is there evidence that they incentivize drug use that wouldn't otherwise happen?

I've seen the studies on safe injection sites that suggest they are overwhelmingly successful, but I've never heard of smoking kits, and I'm guessing I'm not the only one. When policy is introduced to masses of people by meme, as it increasingly is...
