Hell no. OKC would have dealt Westbrook and extended Harden with the max had they had a time machine. It was a mere 24 hours ago where people around the league everywhere were saying that if the Harden to Philly deal didn't materialize, that once KD gets healthy, regardless of whatever the get out of Irving, that the Nets could pull it together and suddenly they are a contender again. So just 24 hours ago KD and Harden works as a core to contend with for a title according to the entire NBA. So no... Tramel.. whoever the hell you are.... OKC 100% has to regret trading Harden to Houston. If you gave Presti truth serum right now and asked him about regrets I'm sure top of that list would be not trading Westbrook for shooters & defenders, and extending Harden with the max, and the starting PG spot to play off of KD for the duration of KD's contract in OKC. What a stupid article.
He's a narcissist - and Murray is his enabler.... Blames was fine when he got to town... he even had that lil pregame ritual with Lin n Parsons... good teambuilding... Then it became about 'cornerstones and roleplayers'.... Then he was encouraged to freeze out the other 'cornerstone' (D12) due to inefficiencies... And he was given free reign to do whatever he wanted to for a couple years - wo consequence... Then when u bring in a CP3 who tries to push him - by then he wasnt hearing any of that... he figured his sh*t didnt stink and nobody could tell him nothin...
Man they really are trying to destroy Harden. The move was logical though. He went there to win a chip he's getting older and kyrie is playing games. i would want to leave too. He informed them that he wouldnt be resigning this summer and the Nets moved him but the media is acting like he forced another trade.
that is forcing another trade... or the team who gave up assets to acquire him are left with nothing when he walks.... he says he's not returning - and therefor forced the team to move him...
Embiid Harden may be the combo we all hoped Dwight Harden to be. He always need a great big man next to him. In Brooklyn there were too many players that want the ball in their hands on the perimeter. i hold no grudge against Harden - and I can understand the frustration with the Nets. At the very least it will be interesting to follow both franchises now!
I think the issue was that he appeared to be intentionally sitting out games and not putting forth much effort to passively force the trade. Sending strong signals that he doesn't like being in Brooklyn. Like in his final days in Houston. If he fully committed himself to the season, despite all the Kyrie drama, and in the end chose to go elsewhere, I don't see how anyone could blame him for that.
Some people salty as hell are the same guys that loved him when he was here. As a bit of a breakdown of Hardens significant team mates, what happened and what the general consensus was at the time: Dwight Howard - This shouldn't have to be said. Dwight checked out on Houston long before Harden checked out on Dwight. Dwight was entering the twilight of his career and its shown everywhere else he's been since. When he left, we all breathed a sigh of relief, the big/big lineups were gone, as well as one of the worse coaches Houston has had (McHale - who hasn't had a head coach gig since). CP3 - This one hurts, but so did Chris Paul's hamstring. Make no mistake, the Harden/Paul 60+ win team was amazing, and defied all expectations the team had when traded for Paul. Paul's 2nd year here was.. not good. Often throwing up shots, not taking over when required (and Harden willingly passing the buck), injuries piling up. Fans were quick to see the back of what they thought was an aging superstar who had passed his time. NO ONE predicted what would happen the next year. CP3 changed his whole routine. Diet. Excersize. And became the Chris Paul of old instead of old Chris Paul. Russ - well. Yeah. I ain't blaming Harden for that at all (apart from the role he played in getting him here). Kyrie - I don't get why Kyrie hasn't gotten as much hate as Harden has. Dude plays half his games (less so because he was out the first quarter of the season) and when he was there, was reportedly "upset" with Harden giving him the side eye because of the alternative approach he has to the game and the world in general. Like. Come on. Harden is the headcase here? On court they were great, but remind me, how many games did they play together? And the ones they didn't, how many were Kyries "fault"? Because Harden was there. Kyrie wasn't. KD - Oh man. In my head. I have no doubt that if KD was healthy, James Harden would still be in Brooklyn. But here is the narrative out there - James Harden wanted a team where he didn't have to carry the load like he did in Houston (Harden played more games than the other two combined). Harden has been dealing with nagging injuries (that he seemed to HAVE to play through to keep Brooklyn afloat). He wanted to play with a big 3 that could have a run at a championship (the big 3 became a 1 and a half most the time). Now there are reasons for his detractors to be just that. He can be disinterested on court. His ISO playstyle and I guess play style in general is not for everyone. His off court antics are what they are (I personally have zero issue with what he does off court). And yes there is a common denominator here, and all roads point to The Beard. But let's not pretend that a lot of other factors were in play, and a lot of those factors were backed up by a lot of people in here.
100% False. Plenty of folks on this board predicted cp3 would age very well. And what do you know, every since he's left hes racked up all star/all nba appearance since. And going to the nba finals. As usual most of cf's was wrong. Which was no different than melo, mcw, westbrick and all the other terrible moves tilman has done since hes been here Tilman's decision to break up by far the best backcourt in the league (and would still be today) after their 2nd season with 0 depth bc he worried more about LTS, will always be the worst decision to this franchise since they won't be relevant again for a long time. The rockets are where they are now solely because of him
would we even draft fett beard in the breh draft? @Yung-T @daywalker02 @LCAhmed @RedNation @RedRedemption
KD has a sprained MCL and Kyrie only plays road games because of his beliefs. That was doomed to fail and anyone can see that
the rest of the team probably tolerates Kyrie’s nonsense for now because there’s still time for him to get vaccinated or for mandates to change…if the playoffs come around and he’s still missing home games, not sure how the rest of the guys won’t view him as a complete joke…everyone except for KD that is since he and Kyrie seem to be soulmates
Hmm I'm not sure. Yes people thought (and still do) that CP3s game would age well. But the last season here was not good especially compared to the standards he set the year before. Statistically he had one of his worst seasons across the board (eFG%, PTS, games played, assists and more). People are quick to forget JUST how different he looked here than he did with a proper offseason and his all around changes in OKC. (This is coming from a massive CP3 fan even before he came to Houston).
Telling them you are not resigning IS HIS ****IGN RIGHT. He doesnt owe them anything. They asked him he said he's not staying they traded him he didnt force anything.
He has not played well ALL YEAR. You guys are falling for non sense lol. You know who else is intentionally sitting out games BOTH KYRIE AND BEN SIMMONS and somehow Harden is getting murdered in the media and he played most of the season lol.
people over exaggerate cp3's 2nd season. and the fact that they knee jerk to that is the very reason why they aren't able to take into context how a elite iq and skilled cp3 would age very well. That's part of the reason Tilman who has 0 bball IQ put the rockets in the position they're in now. It's actually common sense but folks who don't actually understand the game failed to see it. All the westbrick stans see triple doubles and thought this guy was great. But hes been terrible for years even prior to the rockets by all accounts being dumb and trading for him his offseason changes were in place before the trade took place which he already has publicly stated on various podcasts and interviews. He didn't change it after the trade. he was already preparing for the what he thought was the rockets 3rd season when he found out he was traded
The Nets have dropped 10 games in a row and Harden sat out 6 of them. He scored 4 points in 37 minutes in his last game. I wasn't following the situation closely enough to know whether he was sitting out the games for legitimate health reasons or because he was checked out. The little I've read about it seems to indicate it was more the latter (which would not be a surprise, because he did the exact same thing last season as a Rocket).
LOL All I know is that the Sixers chance of winning a title in the next couple of years GREATLY increased and the chances of the Sixers winning a title GREATLY decreased. As for Brooklyn, Harden wanted no part of Kyrie Irving and his sage burning, non vaccinated, taking vacations in the middle of the season nonsense. Kyrie basically sat this season out because he didn't want to be vaccinated while Harden came off an injury and KD busted his ass. No one really WANTS to be associated with Kyrie. The Nets even pulled the extension offer to Kyrie. As for Westbrook, he is the problem. He was dumped by the Rockets, dumped by the Wizards and now he is destroying the Lakers. The only player that Harden arguably should have gotten along with better is Chris Paul, who had run ins while a Clipper and is known as difficult. Not to mention that Harden wanted to keep Paul and add Butler to the Rockets. He didn't force the Rockets to move Paul. James Harden isn't perfect but he isn't this monster he is made out to be. There is a reason that Daryl wanted him back.
