I have to think Stone asked for too much and other teams called his bluff and now he's sitting here with Schroeder...sad man.
Once Wall declines his player option for next season.....................hopefully, we should have quite a stash of money to chase free agents
You are right Matthews was a good pick up too, I have not been as in love with kmj this year as I was with his potential last year. Still a developing player though
I agree totally. It looks like Stone is in over his head. Trading Gordon should have been done last off season and he'll be heading into his 34th Birthday next year. Just idiotic
One of the worst deadlines I've seen in a while. Stone had one job, trade Gordon for something. Instead we have a thirty-three year old guard still on the roster full of young guards that need playing time. On top of that, we've added another veteran guard to the rotation, and got nothing in return. The Clutchfans collective could have done a better deadline than this. Lets not forget, this is the SECOND deadline where Stone failed to trade away any players
Keeping Gordon is not the end of the world. If other teams didn't value him as much as they should, then hold on to him and try again this off season or next year - when he has an expiring contract. This rebuilding is going to take some patience, so why rush any move if you're not getting back fair value.
Imo the price of keeping them on the team past the deadline is too high. If they had to come off their ask for the greater good that’s part of negotiating. Shortsighted.
Yeah, I'm thinking you're right, so Stone manages to hurt the future of the franchise yet again with his incompetence.....how many more opportunities is he going to get to do that before he's kicked to the curb?
Same as last deadline. Worrying trend, if we're being honest. Teams won't forget. He seems to overplay his hand in negotiations.
Who is getting waived? Brooks and Augustin? Have to have room to take on three players even though kanter is being waived. This will open a spot up for Nix too. Schroder is honestly a fun player but there's no room for him to get minutes realistically.
The core issue I think is Tilman. No one wants to attach themselves to a **** owner. Look at the Texans.
