I think their are two real problems here that the media does not want to talk about:

    Steve Nash and Kyrie Irving

Nash should not have been hired and this proves it. Harden is smart man, and he sees the dumb rotations Nash is putting on the floor. Like Kyrie said when Nash was hired: “honestly we don’t need a coach. We can coach ourselves”. That was fine when everyone was relatively healthy; last season they were 25-5 when Durant, Harden and Irving played together. Problem is, that was 30 games. Now that Nash has to actually do stuff he doesn’t know how to.

We all know Kyrie is a headcase. He is an often injured eccentric who clearly doesn’t really like basketball. He plays because he makes money doing it, but he would much rather spend his time discussing issues that he knows absolutely nothing about.

Let’s also add that KD is hurt and despite what the Nets say, he will not be back in 6-8 weeks. He has a sprained MCL and he is two years removed from a torn achilles. That is a bad combination.

Finally, NY and NJ taxes are high as heck.

That whole situation is weird and I don’t blame Harden for wanting out. Probably feels like he got sold a bill of goods by KD.

Not sure how it will work for him long term but he should do what is best for him.

Even WOJ has completely backtracked on this take since yesterday -- the teams are absolutely grinding to make this trade happen.

true. Its more fun to just spin narratives about the big name stars but nash and the rest of the roster are a far bigger issue than kyrie. They are unsalvageable.

It would take a miracle for nash to learn on the fly and harris is probably done for the season if harden wont even give them a chance. The nets also have no assets to move on from their bench of geriatric non shooters who cant even defend. There is no market for vet min 0 way players

The crazy part is everybody is lining up to **** on Harden, but Kyrie is just "eccentric".

And nobody says **** about Simmons, the guy who actually quit on his team this year and has come up way smaller than Harden in the playoffs.

What the hell did Harden do to ya'll?

Wow. No Maxey, no Thybulle. 76ers keep their depth while also getting someone who will actually play. OTOH, the Nets get a young star and get rid of a disgruntled player, while also adding another shooter.

Honestly, this is the rare trade that improves both sides in the short term and long term.

To be fair, Kyrie and Ben are yesterday's news, more of less. Aside from Simmons in the news at the start of the season and news about Kyrie's vaxx stance, there's not much else to talk about / not many clickbait articles to milk, with those two guys.

You can create so much more news and drama by talking about how Harden wants out or whatever, which is amplified as we get to the trade deadline.

Nothing against Nets fans, truly, but I hope this tanks their future and we benefit.

1:17 p.m. ET: The Brooklyn Nets are trading James Harden and Paul Millsap to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

This is a bad trade for us. Simmons, Curry, KD, Kyrie, and picks that they can swing for more assets is way better than Harden. Our future picks are unlikely to ever end up in the lottery.

Yeah, just getting rid of Ben Simmons is a win for Philly. The dude is a cancer who is way overrated.

Unless he has learned to shoot free throws, layups and dunks, since he's been on sabbatical, I am not sure what this guy is going to do for the Nets.

I get that many people see a lineup where Ben Simmons is playing post. But the problem with this is that putting him in the post and taking the ball out of his hands removes his major strength. Also, he still cannot shoot and thus is no threat on the perimeter (so no stretch 4). He is even a terrible free throw shooter, so pounding the ball in the paint just invites hack-a Ben.

Finally, what are Kyrie and KD going to do? Are they going to play together again? Who knows.

KD is drama queen; I have rarely seen a male athlete who is as petty as this dude. Clearly the man has a little "b**h" in him, as Common would say.

Kyrie is a head case, and may show up tomorrow and announce that he is retiring due to a hole in the Ozone Layer, to speak for Aborigines, or some other bull-ish. Who friggin knows.

Geez that’s a big haul for the Nets. Way overpaid. Harden put Morey on the map and now they’re gonna put each other out to pasture.
