No, Stone did scout heavily all of the Rockets draft picks. He was a very big Josh Christopher fan and is a large reason why we have him. I am not really a Stone fan thus far, I think he has already made a number of mistakes but I think he deserves credit when he earns it.
“We believe keeping Gordon to mentor all of our young players is a real benefit to our team going forward and Wood is part of our core big 3 with Green and KPJ.” We all about to be Stoned very soon.
It would be hilarious for the Kings to go all in this year to make into the play-in tournament, get bounced, and commit a ridiculous contract extension to Donte in the offseason.
Not sure Eubanks would have been a good fit here, however he may suprise people in a larger roll. Looked good against the Rockets (obviously). Anyone watch him play?
Stone makes a trade, I get that sweet sweet dopamine rush from something that means nothing. Unless it's Russ for Wall which is going to absolutely get me stoned off a dopamine rush because it's hysterical. Stone doesn't make a trade, I get that sweet sweet dopamine rush of a million fans acting like the Rockets, currently projected to have a top 3 pick odds, are DOOMED because they didn't make an inconsequential trade.
“We are excited about what we have and we are excited for what we are building. We have been able to bring a lot of really exciting players that we really like and we are excited about our team. So I’m excited.”
It's because Stone KNOWS what he has in terms of assets. Why trade Gordon for a Top 14 protected 1st when you can keep him and daydream about the unprotected 1st you COULD get? Clutchfans has also taught me that a low end 1st Rounder in exchange for an oft-injured shooting guard making $20 million a year is worth less than a 2nd Rounder...and sometimes actually just worthless in the grand scheme of things.
It isn't a firable offense, but it is part of his overall performance record. It is way too early to fire Stone at this point. He has had some hits and some misses, but the process is young. I am concerned that he over plays his hand sometimes, but I don't know what internal pressures he is getting from Patrick Fertitta and what Coach Silas is saying behind closed doors.
