There is a massive flaw in your logic, namely, if we keep LeVert and Allen, we probably aren't in a position to select Mobley. Oh, and that lineup is not a "contender."

I'm not saying "it's over", I'm saying that there's no reason for anyone to have ANY faith in Stone right now. He hasn't proven himself as a GM, so going down to the wire with several trades that still need to be made should make everyone nervous.

If we had a proven, competent GM, it would be different. Stone hasn't earned that faith.

Till he actually pulls the trigger, I absolutely think this team could end up stuck with Wood and Gordon for the rest of the season.

That’s how the actual lottery results, which we now know, worked. If we aren’t in one of the actual spots of the teams that finished top 4 (ie their spot, their lotto numbers) then we don’t have a top 4 pick.

You can’t definitively say for sure that we coulda got more from LeVert or Allen later. You can look at all available evidence and reach a logical conclusion.

lol exactly my point, we're not even close to being "down to the wire". But I get it you all have PTSD from Morey who consistently glued his hands to his ass before he sat down.

When I see people talking about trading Gordon for Wiseman and Kuminga I think...

There's no way in hell they trade Kuminga. And they're not trading Wiseman to us for Gordon.

Gordon should net us a decent first round pick. He's a rental for a year or two shot at a championship in a wide open race.

Wood is worth a first round pick and a young talent or two first round picks and salary dump. I think either would be fine.

I don't think Gordon has much value this summer so he needs to be traded today. Wood probably has some value after the deadline but probably more today.

I haven't seen many talk about Gordon for Wiseman and Kuminga? Not even sure that works financially. I think most people talk about a Wiseman/Kuminga scenario involving Wood, basically hoping the Warriors are going to go all-in for Steph's final years.

Now, what DOES work is Gordon and Wood for Wiggins and Wiseman/Kuminga (may have to throw in someone like Nwaba). It's an interesting discussion, but I doubt it happens.

They certainly can, but when you need this many players moved, there's reason for concern.

When you wait till the last second, you have the fewest number of suitors and if they back out, you're stuck with the check.

IMO at least one of the players should have been moved yesterday.

On the singular deal itself, I do think it's a good point about what we would or wouldn't regret in hindsight. Especially knowing the window of opportunity this Summer for better deals.

It's more about the pattern over the past year I'm speaking to. It's more about the negotiations and relationships that I am perceiving (as an outsider with only a fans view mind you).

But to talk in a more singular fashion about this deal in particular, I 100% agree that Sarver, etc. have much more to lose than Stone has to gain. Boy if the Suns lose because Booker has an injury or cannot defend the perimeter down the stretch and Eric Gordon is sipping margaritas in Cancun... they truly screwed themselves in the foot, and in the long run in Stone's view, two 2nd round picks (if we hypothesize that's maybe what they are offering as a take it or leave it deal) isn't all that consequential as he's going to be judged more on Jalen Green, and the 2022 draft pick selection in the longrun.

So yeah... I get it in revisionist deal reviewing. The other end of the line ends up being a bit part of the evaluation. However I don't know how the conversations are actually going, but as an ignorant outsider (but with 15 years of experience in high level multi-million dollar negotiations in corporate America) I see troublesome patterns, and red flags. The ends could justify the means, but I do think it's worth a discussion after the deadline if this is the best style and approach we want for what might be the most important 2 years to rebuild this franchise.
