Joe Rogan on his last podcast just said Woke is good and necessary lol. again, I'm going to warn Joe's new fans as someone else has. He's not right wing or left wing, Joe is just your average dude that has on guests and usually agrees with 90% of the stuff they say whatever it is they say. The only time he's really argued aggressively for anything is when anyone comes on there thinking weed should be illegal, then Joe gets triggered. He's also completely downtalked conservative darlings Candace Owens and Dave Rubin and said basically he thought both weren't even honest actors and stupid in the gentlest terms possible which coming from Joe is...well.... People trying to frame Joe as extreme this or that are wrong, left or right, that's not Joe. Recently he's had on a bunch of covid truthers for whatever reason but has said he will start interviewing experts that agree with the majority scientific opinion on that subject. When he does my guess is Joe will then suddenly change his stance and a lot of the people championing him now will start whining about how spotify brainwashed him or this or that but Joe tries very hard to be moderate. I think recently he's had on a long list of right wing guests, like a lot of those guests on that list that are liberal were from years ago. He used to balance it out a lot better and it sounds like he wants to do that again but recently it feels like he's just been having on every right-wing darling and that his show has become A LOT more political. Joe was at his best when he had non-political guests on like snoop, chappelle, and random guys talking about ancient aliens and stuff. EDIT: The Vax stuff Joe is on now reminds me of his moon landing stuff. Joe used to think the Moon Landing was fake and he was 100% behind that idea. Until he finally brought on people closer to the subject like Neil DeGrasse Tyson and realized how wrong he was. If Joe does hold to his apology and talk to doctors that are for vaccination my guess is he will change his opinion on it or he'll soften his opinion on it so much that anti-vaxxers won't be able to use his word to spread their junk anymore.
This is the problem. I agree with what you said, but every once in a while he will become rigid on a subject. The fact that this happened with the moon landing and Covid vaccines says a lot. And he ego doesn't seem to allow him to admit defeat very easily once he has taken a stand. Believing the moon landing is fake isn't a big deal. Spreading antivaxx misinformation is. It's also a problem that the media has changed course and is attacking him with obvious lies. This is just going to muddy the waters.
Good post and largely agree but he's not mister benevolent either. As you say he agrees with the guy he's talking to (smoking with) in the moment so he really is the type to be most swayed actually haha. Just like reddit or anywhere else you will see the forces try for him and his ability to shill innocently is whats for sale and at stake here. We will see.. That said he does seem mostly open and it reminds me of art bell in that you can tell him anything and he will give you a chance to talk. I could call art bell and say I have alien embryos implanted in my stomach that I got on the cydonia region of mars.. art will be like ( in dramatic voice) "REALLY?" Rogan seems to be good at this and I actually see him only attack what he feels is garbage workout stuff and his most conviction is from the exercise side which he should stick to and I appreciate. I think rogan does have good intentions. I haven't heard him much lately to be fair as I don't have a spotify or similar..I have only listened to some of his interviews on youtube. He is a good interviewer and he has had some great guests along the way. Good for him there is nothing wrong with that.. The one with goggins navy seal is nice and not sure how much it's rogan extracting stuff out as just a good guest- Probably not any more interesting or less than tt boy interviewing Peter north. I think the long form can work sometimes. Nothing wrong with that it's a totally different space anyway than cnn fox msm

Yes, he's an entertaining interviewer, I mean he has to be to have so many viewers. Yeah he does get passionate about workout stuff too and sometimes random things like construction regulation where he'll push back on. I used to listen to him a lot but it's been so political lately that it feels like it turned into a political show. I would only listen to him when he has on an interesting guest. I want to say the last time I listened to a full episode was the Chappelle one which might have been sometime last year or something? I don't remember. Yeah Joe is good on stuff like that, he had on that one alien guy...name slips me, but the guy claimed to have seen aliens and all that stuff and Joe really seemed to go along with it or let him go on about it then in some random later interview mentioned that interview and said something like "You wonder if that guy was just crazy..." so he does a good job of letting people have a platform to say whatever crazy stuff they want to. Also, 100% your last point. It's a completely different space from CNN and stuff, not sure why people compare the two, it's just odd. It's like comparing an NFL game to CNN and going "SEE! CNN fails!" Joe isn't a news show, he'd be the first to tell you that. Its an entertainment podcast where sometimes they talk about politics. It's more comparable to The View than it is anything CNN does or MSNBC or Fox. Those are just straight news channels. Joe meanwhile can have an entire episode talking about atlantis.
I agree. The bigfoot stuff and other conspiracies are certainly harmless. I think he's going to start changing his tone on the vax stuff at least. He's now telling people not to listen to him at least. This was in a stand up but unfortunately, people won't take his advice. I guess we'll see. Joe has definitely been big in propagating the anti-vax stuff though. I think he fell hard in to that stuff because he had on this long string of right-wingers that continued to tell him he was right about it and pump his head with that stuff but if he has on a diversity of guests again I think this is something he might soften on. It is sad that it has any importance at all because people should not go to Joe Rogan for medical advice or news. He's just a stoner workout bro that has a podcast for entertainment. If more people saw it that way that would be good.
