Ironically the truckers are costing society a lot more dollar wise than the entire property destruction chalked to BLM.

That is not clear all. Regardless, the literal devastation caused by BLM and Antifa riots - backed and supported by many if not most Democrat politicians - was astonishing to witness, The Canadian truckers, well, they honk their horns a lot. It is not even a close call.

Blocking bridges has led to a lockup in international trade. This is like that stupid ever given ship stuck in the Suez last year.
    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trucker-protests-canada-freedom-convoy-united-states-border-trade/

2 billion for all of June 2020 vs 1.9 billion a day in daily trade.

The ambassador bridge specifically has 325 million in daily trade. Every day that bridge is blocked is lost money.

The Canadian government should drop the stupid mandates and stop vilifying their citizens for protesting their asinine and unscientific policies, then.

The protests grew out of a bilateral border ban for unvaccinated truckers. These truckers are free to be unvaccinated and drive routes within Canada. They have no right to disrupt the lives of everyday Ottawans with their trucks or have unrestricted access to the US. Maybe we need to build a wall along the northern border to keep out the Canadian mouth breathers.

Canada is like the US in that it is a federal system with significant power wresting in the hands of the provicnes. The mandates in Canada aren't coming from Trudeau. They're coming from provincial governments. Trudeau isn't requiring masks or vaccine passports, the provincial governments are.

Also as an FYI, the Conservatives govern most provinces in Canada. Your wrath is directed at the wrong place. Trudeau's only mandates involve the border itself. Every other mandate comes from provincial and local governments.

    Good point. It begins:

Alberta, Canada, To End Vaccine Passport By Midnight

Jason Kenney, Premier of Alberta, Canada, has announced that several COVID-19 restrictions, including the COVID-19 vaccine passport which mandated proof of vaccine for entry into various businesses, will end at 11:59 p.m. local time Tuesday night. This is the first in a three-step plan to eliminate the majority of COVID-19 rules by the end of February and comes after weeks of massive protests throughout Canada against the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Now is the time to begin learning to live with COVID,” Kenney said. “These restrictions have led to terrible division.”

“We cannot remain at a heightened state of emergency forever. We have to begin to heal.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Kenney pledged to “fight” Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s vaccine mandate for Canadian truckers.

“If the Canada-USA trucker vaccine mandate wasn’t bad enough, now Justin Trudeau wants to bring in a mandate for truckers going between provinces,” Kenney tweeted.

“Alberta will fight this every step of the way – including in court, if we have to,” he declared.

The Alberta Premier sounds a little like Gregg Abbott or Ron Desantis here, don't you think? Now that one province has made this move, others will follow - and quite soon, I suspect.

The walls are closing in. Not just here in the US, but on this whole racket - worldwide.

The US government should fix our law enforcement problem and massive wealth inequality problem instead of villyifing their citizens for protesting multiple centuries worth of abuses and systemic oppression.

As stated earlier Canada's new infection numbers are plummeting which is likely what is driving the lifting of mandates.

To quote another famous Canadian. Wouldn't that be ironic.

I'm guessing that Canadian politicians wouldn't want to extend the mandates just out of pique at the protesters.

Except unlike Greg Abbott or Ron Desantis, Jason Kenney could easily lose. The NDP have had double digit leads over the Conservatives for months now. Kenney is just freaking out because if the fringe right wing decide to vote for a third party (like the wildrose party), the Conservatives are going to get wiped out. Kenney's only saving grace is that he has until next year to call an election.

Alberta, Saskatchewan and Quebec all unveiled plans Tuesday to curb the measures that have become the focal point of an exhausted public after nearly two years of the global health crisis.

In the West, governments are moving quickly. Alberta announced it would lift vaccine passport requirements by the end of Tuesday night, part of a multi-stage approach to eliminating the majority of restrictions in the province. The news came hours after the Saskatchewan government had said it would do away with its vaccine requirement on Feb. 14, with mask mandates to be scrapped two weeks later.

In Quebec, which has seen some of the country’s strictest public health measures, Premier François Legault detailed a plan that would see most restrictions lifted by March 14. Starting Saturday, there will no longer be any legal restrictions on private gatherings.

So explain to me again how is blocking traffic during BLM protests such a threat that it requires new laws against blocking traffic and even laws that would make it easier to run over protesters while blocking traffic to protest vaccine mandates is good?

People wasting their time protesting a shot. I mean, it's just hilarious to me how many stupid people are out there. If you think the vaccine is dangerous your a freaking buffoon. Yeah, I know a lot of friends who somehow believe the vaccine makes you really sick and is a gov't conspiracy, and they are stupid for believing that.
