WOJ: on ESPN just said all the league GMs are stunned by Halli even being available. Lol. Kings gonna king
just wait til the owner of the rockets gets going again. not like he's hasn't made flat out idiotic moves before.
If only we had a GM that has been doing deals since child birth that could figure out a way to add Halliburton? lol. I’ve been banging chicks since my early teens but I ain’t no p*rn star.
I wonder if the Kings looked up, geographically, saw their Portland neighbors hold on to a strong tandem backcourt for too long, and pulled the trigger on this trade. A Fox and Haliburton combo has more of a chance to end up like Lillard/McCollum than Paul/Booker. Plus, I guess the Kings see something in Davion Mitchell? I feel like most people are criminally underrating how good Sabonis is. It's a hefty price, but I don't think it's a completely outrageous trade.
So the franchise that is the kings concluded that after 1.5 seasons of Haliburton who has gotten better & continued to get better all along the way and has turned into a damn good all around player and continues to trend up of course it's outrageous. You traded for someone to win now, and you're not even going to come close to winning now nor anytime soon for that matter. You probably can't even make the playoffs. If the kings were some middle of the pack playoff team, it would actually make some sort of sense. They' not. Bottom feeders just like the rockets. And then you gave up a potential all around stud guard in a guards league in the modern era. And in the midst of his 2nd season continuing to show a ton of growth at 21. Just flat out dumb move
OK, as much as I hate Tilly, I'll at least give him credit for not being Vivek. Granted, this probably has a lot to do with the longest playoff drought in NBA history but to just move the one saving grace in your **** stain franchise that early is sad. I mean, Sabonis is nice but if there was ANY way to do this with Sabonis and Haliburton together that would have been an awesome core to build around for years. If you could do the same with Fox and Mitchell and picks from your side it would've been much much better. Move just reeks of shortsighted desperation. Funny thing is the Pacers now have 2 Swiss army knife big guards in Brogdon and Haliburton. Not a bad start but if they can tank this year and get a good centerpiece in the draft, they're golden.
I agree with JR to a lesser extent, Hali is a very nice young player, plays D, hits the 3, can pass, but this isn’t a guarantee that he’s anymore of a player then say Lonzo Ball going forward. Sabonis is a very good player, Kings upgraded the team today, it’s not known if this is a terrible future move. I hope they extend Sabonis because he’s only got 2 years after this season, they traded a rookie controlled player for him, that’s my biggest reservation
It’s their owner that’s the problem. Rather sack the future just to try and get in the play in tournaments for next couple of years. Terrible terrible owner
Woj says the league is stunned the kings traded hali. Malika said someone in the Kings organization said “what the heck is going on?” Jesus christ
When you don't make the playoffs for 2 decades, you start getting really desperate. this is just desperation to put together a 8th seed somehow
that means you stop being doing what you've been doing. And the kings are just continuing to not do that and making dumb moves after dumb moves. When you get a young talent, you keep him around longer than 1.5 years rather than panic
no, man, he’s really, really good. Should’ve been ROY, better than ANT and LaMello at basketball, just not as flashy. Sabonis is really good, a bit mechanical. Not sure he has another level up from here, though…
