Good point. The little I have seen and heard from the owner of Sacramento suggests that he keeps up with basketball and fancies himself an expert. Of course, we have seen how that has worked out for the Cowboys.
Vivek Ranadive is one of the worst owners in professional sports--not NBA--but all of professional sports.
The Kings must understand that this move means that the Kings will be building their team exclusively through the draft. The likelihood of any free agent signings are zilch. Since they have traded their best young players other than D'Aaron Fox, they don't have much to offer anyone in a trade, unless a team really wants Marvin Bagley.
Haliburton was the one nice thing about the Kings maybe Sabonis can push the Kings into the play-in, but that’s about it…they’re still garbage fodder Why even be a Kings fan at this point? They’re going on almost 20 years of not even being an 8th seed
I didn't realize Sabonis is only 25. That's about the same timeline as Fox. Maybe they think they can get another piece somehow to try to compete for a playoffs spot next year.
well that's probably what they're thinking but at this point when you are able to get someone like haliburton, you keep him. I still laugh at a team who is 15 games under .500 and worrying about "playoffs". newsflash you're not close and are much more than a sabonis acquisition away. While giving up a young potential stud who should have been kept
Not only that but they traded BOTH of the players they had that can actually hit a 3 point shot with any consistency at a high %. Now you got a backcourt that has zero perimeter threat paired with an All-Star big man that does better, offensively, in the paint.
maybe Vivek's hoping that Sabonis could be the Doncic that they never drafted? they're both from europe right....?
This is the same guy that tried to make his team run a full court press all game because he was CONVINCED it would work in the NBA as it did on his daughter's middle school basketball team.
Have said it again and again vs those Play In fans on this board. The Play In is purgatory personified, unless the team has real talent to contend for HC advantage.
