We don't have any all stars on the roster to send to Sacto....

I’ve always been pushing for a patient rebuild. I just don’t see any significant rebuilding pieces other than the draft capital. And when I see a 21 yr old future all star available I think we ought to be doing everything possible to get him.

And they definitely didn't want our picks - they know how badly they treat those things!!!!

If Wood gets traded, for ANYTHING, we won the trade deadline. I don’t care.

I would try to get Turner, they would want multi draft picks or a very good player. I would trade Wood and a FRP for Turner….do anybody has Stone’s number? I believe this will work. Then we need to lose every game, sit out Turner and draft either top 3 picks in the draft

What’s the point in hoarding assets if we are not going to use them when the opportunity strikes? Wood + bkn pick
    Wood + green
Wood + green + bkn pick Godfather offer

And that explains the why, "a thread suggesting Wood move to SF or Wing?"

    Good luck with that

    Helluva move for the Kings.

Y'all can beat it to the cows come home about Haliburton & Hield, but Sabonis, when healthy, is All World.

That said, not a bad return for the Pacers...It's just I wouldn't have dealt DS.

Fox and Sabonis will rock, and the Kings will add another piece.

Sacramento wanted a player to help win now and build around who can compliment Fox.
    Wood isn't that.
They pick horrible in the draft.

Sabonis is light years ahead of any player we have right now.

This is not a deal we could have made in any way shape or form

It’s a fair trade for both but I am of the belief that Haliburton will be better than Fox and was the real prize in all of this. We shall see.

Haliburton is better than Fox and it’s not close

(When it comes to winning, not empty stats)

well my point is that after a year and a half the fact that we have no assets good enough to make a deal for a young chip is an indictment on the front office. They had Harden, they have picks, they have Gordon, we have prospects, Wood had huge value at the deadline last year. Why can’t we deal for a player like Halliburton?

not exactly. when healthy his impact is limited because sabonis isn't a defensive presence. His actual impact on the game is capped at a certain ceiling because hes much better offensively. He's good for fantasy bball purposes but as far as leading a team to wins, not so much. now that he's the best player on a sac team in the west with less talent, he'll be even more exposed. Sac will be horrible defensively and lost a ton of floor spacing

Guessing Stone wouldn’t have included Green with Wood. And that stubbornness is why he won’t have a job for much longer

Sacramento is clearly pushing for playoffs. Sabonis is better for them making the playoffs than anyone or any combination of players on our current roster.

I agree that Indy got a hell of a steal though! Players like Halli (age, skill, future upside) hardly ever get traded!

    None are all stars.
Possibly they wanted a core piece all star

It sounds like we're trying. If reports are true then Wood is available but no team is offering much. Green and the Brooklyn pick would be a fair offer, but Sacramento isn't in the market for prospects and picks. They clearly want a young established star like Sabonis. We don't have that. Can't force teams to accept our stuff.

We have the 2nd most picks accumulated.
    We have young 'potential'
We have role players valuable to a contender.
    We have no all stars.

What we have and what the Kings wanted seem incompatible

I don’t see why SAC trades Hield to take back Gordon though, even if they liked Wood. Gordon/Hield play the same position, similar salaries, overlapping skill set. Gordon gives you more ball handling and maybe defense, but he’s also several years older.

When I first saw the trade, my gut reaction is that we should have been involved, but the pieces/salaries we have don’t really fit what SAC sent out.
