Rockets would take a step back trading Wood. 5 out will suffer badly without his spacing. Scoring and rebounding will suffer too.
I agree we will suck the rest of the year without. Wait, we already suck. We will suck more. Trading Wood should happen only if we get at least 1 frp or a good young veteran. I think with the right coach he could be a very good player. Made me laugh on the top P&R player. He does have R part down.
If you're going to stick with him, then you need to make some other move to progress the rebuild, in my opinion.
It's a given He came here to join Harden. Up his stats by flying under the radar in which Harden brings. Using Silas offense to up his stats. Get some rebounds as main big and get some blocks as main big. Now it's time to up his value as a contributor on a contender. Good luck Wood. Write us a post card. Thanks for everything and hopefully the two draft picks you bring us.
If they are not blew away with a trade package for Wood, I would keep Wood, move him to PF and find a center like Myles Turner or Mo Bamba
Doubt it. Suns are just trying to force their competitors to pay more. It benefits them to make teams give up quality rotation players in a deal for Eric Gordon or Woods. Thank you Suns. Knicks in a fire sale hurts us
Here is the run down on the Thunder picks the Rockets owe (we chatted about yesterday) Thunder get our 1st round pick (top 4 protected) in 2024. I would still go "all in" this draft in the summer ('22) Keep the timeline tighter for the group as a whole. Instead of, "Fab 5," "The Terrific 10" https://www.nba.com/news/report-russell-westbrook-traded-chris-paul-rockets-thunder
Bouknight and Washington are intriguing prospects. Not sure either are better than what we are already developing on the roster but it’s interesting. Is this actually some real intel from Iko?
Hasn’t PJ been a big disappointment? Seems like we could get a better deal for Wood. I actually think the Rockets are going to wait on him until the off-season. If they can draft Chet they will keep him and use him as a SF. I would like to see him traded for value, just not sure PJ Washington is value and we don’t need more guards.
He has. In terms of fit, it helps with the rebuild process. We need draft compensation for any Wood deal, I’d assume.
he does shoot 39% from 3. I haven’t watched him close enough to know if he’s a good defender, but he gets steals and blocks. Wish he was a little taller. I think he’d excel in our system if he can defend. I agree we don’t have many minutes to develop guards but Boughknight is a pretty talented guard who we might be able to develop into something that either nets us more assets in a trade or part of our rotation. Agreed that adding a pick would make this a great deal for Houston.
I really don’t know about PJ. I haven’t really seen much of him, but others have trashed him on the forum. Like to hear Nook’s opinion on this trade. He is taller than Tate and if he is a good defender then I would try to throw Tate in the deal to get the FRP.
PJ Washington a big disappointment? I mean he was the 12th pick in 2019 and hasn't lit it up but I think he's a fine role player. He shots well from 3 and his defense is mediocre to average. We could use a guard like Ish Smith to come off the bench instead of Augustin. I think a Wood to Charlotte trade would be about good contracts and draft picks, not necessarily looking to grab talent to grow with.
