I’m sure the draft capital is significant. N.O. Has stockpiled some great picks. while I didn’t want to ship EG off to New Orleans, I am now getting nervous that Stone is going to have another debacle of a deadline, getting very little to help our team. and i just have to say that if Stone thinks Wood, KPJ and Green is our core of the future, we are in worse trouble than I thought.
Zion, Ingram, CJ, Graham, J-Val, Hayes, Herb Jones, Temple. They could lose their first this year but next have pick swaps. It’s a playoff team and really dependent on health. Idk what more Pelicans can do but if you’re a Pels fan you gotta be happy.
Stone knows Wood and KPJ aren’t. He’s not a fool. You need superstars to win ships and they aren’t it. I wouldn’t be too worried about that. Still rebuilding, need another top 5 pick and more shots at getting top talent. Even a late first for EG is something. Wood in the off-season will be really coveted.
Sengun Chet Wood Green Porter works better. with super subs Tate, Josh, Bird and KM. Sengun has that underrated hustle defense and is being tutored by Chuckwagon as I type. Chet can alter shots and cause deflections. Porter is the highest rated on the ball defender on the team. Green just has to not help and stick with his man which he has been doing much more lately. Wood can dew what Wood dew and play free safety on defense. The bench, led by 2 way players, becomes the best in the league.
Happy that teams are dishing out first rounders, setting a good market value for trades. Hope we jump in before they run out lol.
He has one year and a player option the year after. He is about $10,000,000 a year which sounds like a lot but it really isn't. Horton isn't much older than Jalen Green, he has been in the league longer... but there is still some upside there if he can learn to shoot from the perimeter. I don't think he is a "positive" trade asset at this point but I would definitely take him if it means I get an unprotected 2027 Lakers pick or maybe even a top 3 protected 2027 pick from the Lakers. The Lakers may not be very good in 2027.
EG has more experience in playoffs than CJ and LeVert combined. I’d like to believe he’s the top asset remaining on the market.
Age and health must be huge factors. Otherwise he's a much better defender than both of them and can easily match their scoring output and efficiency. Not as creative but ultra safe with the ball. Maybe can't do as many minutes as them, but I think he impacts wins in these playoffs more than any of those two. Then is his contract year and you can expect him to perform well again. He's a good asset, hopefully we get one good pick for him.
This post is the win of our deadline. We got CH back!!! Ps - I don’t expect anything from the rockets this deadline.
I don't understand this at all for Portland. I know CJ is overpaid and a bit overrated, but a single protected first rounder feels like a horrible deal. They should have gotten more than that.
I agree. NO still retains their most valuable draft pick assets. When guys like CJ head towards free agency they’ll be able to package his expiring with their best draft picks for a star. Edit: I now see that the pick is vightly protected so not bad for Portland
The protected 2022 1st is protected for 1-4 and 15-30. Unlike what Indiana got for LeVert, that is a very good pick. Edit: Caveat, I prefer quality over quantity regarding NBA trade assets.
For what reason? The non-gt'd contract or cause they like his fit? Any other stuff looking likely before the deadline?
I'd be surprised if no trades happen. Theis to C's seems realistic. There are options with Gordon. Lots of time left...
